That is an absolute disgrace.  The AVERAGE college hockey fan could have written a better and more accurate preview than that crap.

I also found NHL.com's very informed rankings to be very impressive as well.  I was especially impressed by their number ten team: Maine.  Maine is going to be awful this year and will likely finish in the bottom four of the Hockey East.

Why do you think Maine will be awful?  The HE poll has them finishing 4th and USCHO has them 12th in the nation.  You may be right, especially considering how they finished last season, but NHL.com's ranking doesn't seem too far away from general perceptions.  (Though no doubt Maine is getting some extra credit based on recent history.)

They were a strong team last year, but clearly not a contending team - their finish definitely affirmed that.  From that group, they lost four players off their top two lines.  Jackson and Shields will be seniors but they are not primary offensive weapons.  They certainly are not top notch forwards.  Their goaltending is sooooooo overrated as well.

NHL.com seems to adore BC.  They picked them 4th in the pre-season last year -- BC was 8th in USCHO and unranked in USA Today.

FWIW, in 2003 the picked Maine worse than any other pre-season poll or ranking.

BC is actually my pick to win it all.  They have perhaps the top recruiting class in the country to add to a very very strong returning group of the Eaves', Voce, Gionta, Shannon, Forrest, Kultainan.  They are gonna be awesome this year.

In addition to the amount of ink INCH gave cornell, they've seemed to up their amount of content quite a bit in their sophomore year (whether it's accurate or not is still debatable i guess).  i was also surprised by the fact that they appear to have taken over uscho's old place on espn's "other" college sports link.
