Quote from: WederI love this season's team so much.
Same :') they just don't give up, and everyone pulls their weight, too
Grady and Tim noted that the fourth line was out there for Union's second goal, and that reminded me of so many seasons when Derraugh would basically go with two lines in the playoffs. I don't think that fourth line played a ton this weekend but it was way more than fourth lines have gotten in years past, which says a lot.

This probably has something to do with why the women are ranked #3.

fuck yes. i have such a dumb post to make when i get home
I can't waittt
ok so i watched the first period and went out to get my steps in and do some bonus grocery shopping (buying the things i forgot to get yesterday). i live on the east side of prospect park and walked to the park slope food coop because i am in many ways the stereotype you think i am. espn app is being a pain in the ass so i can't even listen. anyway, before i shop i check the score and see we scored first then gave it right back. i shop, i leave, we're down 2-1 and bergmann is being pulled after a time out. grumble grumble grumble women caught the men's sklansky win disease. refresh, and see tying goal/winning goal under review... and as i walk down union street on my way home from the coop, i see this and nearly trip rushing to open my camera.

I can't find TOI for the women, but yeah. Rolling the lines helps a lot.

Has there ever been a successful women's ice hockey coach that changed jobs and became a men's hockey coach? That was also successful. Just curious, bc we have one hell of a women's hockey coach now.

The answer to that is no.

Excerpted from  the March 5 Athletic — Forward Hannah Bilka, defender Rory Guilday and goalie Nicole Hensley were all left off the 2025 roster. All three players have been fixtures on Wroblewski's rosters over the last three years.

Bilka, 23, was the No. 4 pick in the 2024 PWHL Draft and had nine points in her first 13 professional games before getting injured at the Rivalry Series in February. Guilday, a shutdown defender, is in her senior year at Cornell University. Hensley, 30, has had a tough season in the PWHL — a 3.56 goals-against average and .866 save percentage — but has been on Team USA since 2016.
