I like it. Hope he can keep Earl's system going because we are never going to out recruit Yale Princeton and Harvard.

Yup-that was one Earl's gripes

CU2007

Good decision. I give our new AD a solid A-grade thus far.

Quote from: ugarteFeel good about this.

As do I. He's had plenty of success at Cornell and should have a plan how to continue the momentum Earl created over the past few seasons.

What's the basis for this? I have no idea other than Princeton's history with basketball and the recent success of Yale and Harvard. Is it just because of basketball being HYP or bust when it comes to Ivy recruits?

Also really like this. I feel Jaques' own, somewhat unique, career progression/path (being a reserve for 3 years getting limited minutes followed by being an integral starter on the Sweet 16 team) will be fruitful in being able to recruit/develop/connect with players. Also hopefully means he's here for a long haul.

He and his wife are both Cornell grads, so if anyone has the chance to be a lifer it would be him.

Interesting to note how long the search for the new women's basketball coach is taking compared to how quickly most of the other coaching vacancies have been filled.

Not an easy gig being behind men's and women's ice hockey, men's wrestling, and men's basketball in the winter pecking order but Marnie Dacko made it work when she was in the job-much better track record than Smith.

Does wrestling get crowds?  I realize they are a dominant program, but are they popular?

it sells out the friedman center and probably does a pretty good job of filling newman when they have a big dual meet.

and the big deal is wrestling brings in donation money
