Quote from: BearLoverWhen asked in the postgame interview what the message was coming out for the third, Walsh said that they "were just doing it for a lot of the guys leaving, especially the younger guys." Huh?

Coach Schafer appeared possessed for a moment and then told the team "if you lose this game, you'll take it to your fucking graves".

I took it to mean he meant the younger players were especially trying to win this for the older players. If he had a chance to answer again, he would probably give a more coherent answer.
Who's leaving besides Seger and McInchak?

That dumb Dartmouth penalty in the closing seconds of the 2nd period changed everything. Until then we were largely lifeless. Our power play didn't start out too promising, but Seger (who had a terrific game as usual) made a nice zone entry pass, got the puck over to Bancroft who just labeled one over the Black's glove. We then had several near misses until Seger again made a gorgeous backhand pass to Penney for the one timer. After that it was pretty much all Cornell.

Now we have to put the hammer down tomorrow and play from the puck drop like we played tonight in the 3rd. SLU will not go down meekly.

I admit that I wasn't paying as much attention to the hockey as I was to the wrestling but I thought that we were making Cooper Black work his ass off and had a lot of near misses. I thought the skates were moving but we weren't cracking through. I never felt like we were out of it even though the third Dartmouth goal was a gut punch. Goddamn do I want to win tomorrow.

Deep down I hope the guys call him Schafer to his face instead of Coach like in the Walsh interview.

I was wondering has anyone ever scored a natural hat trick with empty netters?  Was hoping Cashman pulled Black once more.

Who was the most recent guy to forty points prior to Seger?  Don't feel like that happens much in these parts.

I'm sure they don't sing this song!
"When we came off, [Bitz] said, 'Thank God you scored that goal,'" Moulson said. "He would've killed me if I didn't."

Quote from: underskillIs the 5 pm start time accurate? CHN says 730

So says Pierre!

Pierre and now the USCHO game summary says that Saturday game is "set for Saturday at 5 pm EDT." Everything else is still saying 7:30 puck drop. Maybe weather related time change?

Edit - CHN is now saying 5:00 as well.

ECAC Site says 5 PM.
If you lead a good life, go to Sunday school and church, and say your prayers every night, when you die, you'll go to LYNAH!

The game was scheduled for 5 PM as of this past Saturday evening.  It's not a snow change.

Quote from: imafrshmnSchafer likes to tamp down the emotions, at least to start games. But the way this one shook out, the emotions ramped up organically, and we finally clicked. We can win a game playing one good period, and that makes us dangerous. I like the vibes going into tomorrow. Hope Kempf's knee feels better.

Kempf looked good there at the end after going down! He was putting in some good shifts after he went back to bench

When he went back to the bench instead of the locker room, someone near me said "He'll be back for his next shift."  Damned if he wasn't.

The problem is that if we lose, I don't think the ECAC is a three-bid league this year no matter what the pwr says.
