Other fun stuff: this will be Cornell's 40th ECAC F4.  (Personally, it will be Anne and my 25th, which would make us the 4th most successful school despite missing the first 20 seasons.)

Appearances by decade:

60s  4 (of 8)
70s  9
80s  5
90s  5
00s  8
10s  7
20s  2 (of 3)

Quote from: BeeeejIncidentally, this particular combination of four teams has never before been in the ECAC semis, Lake Placid or not. Q's history in the conference may be relatively brief, but it's also already twenty years.

I was going to say that Dartmouth's fault for making it less frequently, but the most common 3-of-4 for this 4 appears to be DC/QU/SLU in 2007 and 2016, so it's on us.
03/23/02: Maine 4, Harvard 3
03/28/03: BU 6, Harvard 4
03/26/04: Maine 5, Harvard 4
03/26/05: UNH 3, Harvard 2
03/25/06: Maine 6, Harvard 1

I am only pleased when it's us, Clarkson, and 2 of Harvard, SLU, or RPI.

This year's combo is unapproved, but I'll allow it if we win it.

I mostly agree, but I hate seeing Princeton, as they have this weird tendency to win in their rare appearances.

I miss UVM, who would probably be 4.5 on that list.

I sometimes wonder how things would have been for UVM if it stayed. It doesn't seem like the jump to Hockey East worked out for the program.

This.  The weekend is going to be 90% Q and Cornell fans.  The Q fans are going to leave after their game to either celebrate or slink back to Toilet-on-the-Connecticut.

We will have a half empty building to ourselves.

Advice: if you come without tickets get there early because LP has yet to get their shit together at the walkup office, and the lines get long. You'll get in but you don't want to miss the whole first period.

Curious, doesn't SLU travel well?  Such a short drive?  I would hope they would. Can't wait for Friday night! LGR!!

You're joking right? You all do realize that the 2 biggest draws in Lake Placid always have been SLU and Clarkson? It's actually not even close. I read the comment the other day about the "90% Q and Cornell fans" and chuckled. It's only an hour and a half from Canton to Lake Placid and, every time we play there, roughly half of the attendees are SLU fans. So, just letting you know, yes there will be plenty of SLU fans there.

Not to mention the the bulk of the locals of Lake Placid & Saranac Lake area typically throw their support to the North Country teams, whichever one is there. They may not be boisterous or loud, but they like having tournaments like this there and they will pull for the region.

Section 11 tickets are not available online at the Lake Placid Brooks Arena ticket office. I called the arena and the ticket rep said I needed to get Section 11 tix from the Cornell ticket office. I just called the Cornell ticket office; it is closed, only open Tuesday-Friday. Hmmm... how to get section 11 tickets today??? Am I missing something?
