At least the bad quality of the last game is better than what you will have to pay to watch the OSU game on sat..

5-1 Cornell after one at Hobart

Hobart video is good, announcers are first-class. Could give the Syracuse Newhouse School a run for their money. Also, they're not homers: They talked about an "ill-advised [clearing] pass," dropped balls with no pressure, thought they saw Hobart goal out of the circle step back in (and not called) and other glitches. Good stuff.

Okay, one Hobart broadcast glitch: The scores band is way too big. At least it's at screen-bottom. ESPN (real ESPN) used to put the band at the top and it often blocked the guy feeding from the upper corner of the screen.

About 35 degrees in Geneva. There is no evidence of snow on the field although it's on the adjacent fields.

Cornell gave up the first goal, ran off 6, 6-1 early in the second period, Kirst with 3 goals. 7-1. 8-1 4 minutes into the second. Hobart gets it to 8-2 midway through the second, gets its first back to back goal pair 7 minutes in, then 3 in a row with 4:00 to halftime: 8-4. Cornell and Hobart (at 0.1?) trade goals in the last 10 seconds, halftime 9-5 Cornell, Kirst has 4G 3A. I still miss Pannell and Teat, but, sheesh, Kirst is putting up big numbers early this season.

Ierlan has been great. And his outlet passes are fast and crisp.
