My anti-RPI bias has been on display on the hockey forum since the inception of eLynah.  It gives me pleasure to display a little more schadenfreude today with the leak of an internal survey of RPI faculty and staff.  President Shirley Jackson is to leave this spring and will be an easy act to follow.
"When we came off, [Bitz] said, 'Thank God you scored that goal,'" Moulson said. "He would've killed me if I didn't."

RPI is no Cornell let alone MIT but it's also no slouch, top 50, or better, on some lists of engineering schools, 101 on the WSJ 2022 list of all universities. Be hard not to find good candidates. So do you want a hard charger on the way up who may jump in 5-8 years, or somebody for whom this might be the final posting?

RPI needs someone that can raise enough money to pay off Shirley's legacy debt and fix the crumbling areas of the campus. The salary should be 50% or less than her ridiculous salary.

(...and without a 24/7/365.25 armed security detail at the Presidential Mansion she had built for her and with a prohibition from serving on more than one outside board to pad said salary.)

"When we came off, [Bitz] said, 'Thank God you scored that goal,'" Moulson said. "He would've killed me if I didn't."

Come on, Marty.  Stop equivocating and speak your mind!  We're all friends here.

I didn't notice when I posted this earlier that it includes an image of one of the white SUVs that her security crew parks between the gate and the house.

In her defense, if I acted like her I'd have security too.

It's always good -- informationally good, not necessarily for the institution -- to equate the leaders salary, benefits and perks to X-dollars per student. In 2018, Jackson's compensation package is cited as $5.8 million and that's $775 per student. That's not a college president package, it's what an Alabama football coach makes. And one of them had a better year.

Martha Pollack's listed salary (may or may not include perks) of $1.1 million works out to less than $50 a student. She's a bargain.
