I don't understand why, but I would go to a playoff game if it were on Olympus Mons.

We'd have home ice advantage there.  It is the "Red Planet."

Although it would be CO2 ice.

The venues will have something to do with attendance, with both a pull (great cities) and push (high hotel prices). The format change will interact with such things.

It's -81 F.  Advantage: the North Country and UP teams.

It will certainly impact more "casual" travel attendance.  I don't understand why, but I would go to a playoff game if it were on Olympus Mons.

If nothing else, spreading it out to a 3-day event now eats work days on both ends for distant travelers, making it more difficulty logistically.

Maybe they should go back to having two regional sites like in the days of the 12-team tournament.  They could do two semis each on Friday and Saturday, and have the finals on Sunday and Monday.  (Of course the more sensible thing would be to have the winners of the Saturday games play the late game on Sunday and get everybody out of there in one long weekend, but then not everyone gets a day off between games.)

I loved the old format.  It was great to see 2 of the 6 teams advance and seeing half the tournament field made it a a big draw.

Chances of this happening are miniscule.

in a perfect world we go best of 3 for the whole deal.  more  games more money and 2 extra weekends.

In a perfect world it's best of 3 at home sites first 2 rounds then F4.

Now I know why Cornell was so involved in the Mars rover programs: making sure we had fans sent ahead to scope out the best bars and restaurants.

Although IIRC when Opportunity landed, it was warmer at the landing site than it was in Ithaca. ::scared::

upprdeck

upprdeck

so we got the email on tickets finally.  no season tickets this semester.  but the tickets on monday and then public sale on tues..

the way i read it they are not going to 100% capacity.

CAS

The email does read "hopes of returning to full capacity by start of regular season"

upprdeck

thats why its confusing, the reg season starts in Nov.. this is a email about tickets thru the end of the first semester..
if you are moving kids to C then you are trying to spread them out a bit You would think?

It also says reg people thru the main Bartels Entrance and kids thru the Lynah entrance but ignores the huge number of people entering on the North side of the building?

Do they plan on some how blocking the kids from leaving that side of the building after entrance

Weder

Looks like the Red-White game was taken off the schedule.
