I'd love to see us play a game in Philly like Penn State does.

There won't be a conflict.  MSG always keeps the Saturday evening after Thanksgiving open for Cornell hockey.  15 years now.  We played Colgate in Newark once.  Disastrously low turnout.  MSG is a destination.  The other places are not.

How dare you insult the fine city of Newark.

No insult here.  I would love Newark.  The Ironbound is fantastic and the arena's ok and easily accessible.  Just stating the fact that our brethren didn't show up.

And let me know of errors, or if we get more definitive game times and whether the BU game will really be at MSG.

The Big Red will attempt to retain the Kelley-Harkness Cup, laying claim to Red Hot Hockey's prize after a 2-0 victory over the Terriers in front of a crowd exceeding 15,000 fans.

Oh Hell!  Let's just invite them to Ithaca.   I think it would be a ball to have the CU-BU game at Lynah.  Besides, with the crime increase in NYC, who wants to go there?   Not me, even for Big Red Hockey.

Playing at MSG is cool (I'm wearing the t-shirt as I type this), and we'd been looking forward to something like that being arranged for years, but it is a shame that Cornell and BU don't play each other on campus any more.  We did two-game series in 2001 at Walter Brown and 2002 at Lynah, and they were a lot of fun, and also key milestones in the development of the 2002-2003 team.  (Jack Parker described the 2002 series as men vs boys, but the Big Red were the men for once.)  We have never played BU at their new rink, which opened in 2005.

Almost for sure it's MSG, but they still haven't put it on the schedule, and I won't make it definite till they do. Also they've usually offered tickets by now. Suspect it's just because of all the prior COVID restrictions, which are now lifted. Let's keep it that way, so everybody get vaccinated.**]

You're certainly right.  The posted press release just says "neutral site".

we might start to see more info on things after july 1st as the hiring freeze will be over and parts of campus will be back to work soon in a much more efficient way.

I've heard Newark is actually a pretty cool place these days.

CU2007

I think a periodic rivalry game with LIU at the new Islanders arena could be cool and get a good turnout. Also could be viewed as helping their program establish itself.

still interesting that we are now closing in on 2 months later than normal for renewal and still no updates on tickets or fans at games yet.  wouldnt shock me if they play with no fans or no fans until after xmas.. maybe they go he fans and masks but no food route?

Nix the fans one more year to be safe.  We'll live.  Literally.
