Quote from: Jeff Hopkins '82Happened to tune into the ECHL All-star game(s) on NHL network tonight.  Mitch Gillam was in goal for one of the teams.

Unfortunately he gave up 6 goals in a 7 minute 3-on-3 period.  ::thud::

Edit: Also a Beau Starrett sighting.
In a 3-on-3 ECHL all-star game, if somebody drops to block a shot, he actually tripped.

The Ivy newsletter via e-mail indicates that only two Cornell players (Nash and Ryan) have played in the NHL in the first half of the season. I guess they don't include brief call-ups.

16 Ivies Compete In NHL First Half

Sixteen former Ivy League men's ice hockey players have competed in National Hockey League (NHL) games during the 2019-20 campaign. The 16 Ivies have accumulated 74 goals, 115 assists and 189 points in 527 NHL games this season.

Five of the Ivy League's six participating institutions have been represented—with Harvard pacing all Ivy League programs with eight former student-athletes making appearances ahead of the NHL All-Star Break.

I'm pretty surprised nobody here has posted this yet, but go on talking about what grants Benny Hill is getting or whatever.

Anthony Angello promoted to the NHL

Likely a short-term call-up, but a pretty significant moment.

Nice article. From the photos we see that someone in his cheering section had the good taste to wear a Cornell jersey.

Not much, but it's a start. :-)

I watched a bit of the game and all the 3rd period.  Sadly, I didn't hear his name called.  Pens definitely shortened the bench in the 3rd.

In their defense, I'd limit Galchenyuk's minutes too.

Willcox with a shorty in tonights Phantoms' game.  It looked like a pass, but it went in long side.  His first goal of the year.  (He was also the intermission guest on the TV broadcast).

Joel Lowry getting ice time for Springfield.

Cole Bardreau recalled by Isles and playing in place of injured Casey Cizikas.

That's great for Cole, but a bummer for me.  I was thinking about going to the Phantoms - Sound-Tigers game tomorrow night to watch his return to Allentown.

Edit:  I went.  No Bardreau, of course, but Kubiak started for Bridgeport and had a decent game.  Willcox was his usual steady self for LV.

Went to the Blue Jackets at the Devils game on the 16th.  Brought my Blue Jackets Riley Nash jersey and put it up against the glass during the warmup.  Nash saw it and was nice enough to give me a puck.  Being a grown-ass man, didn't expect that at all.

Nash was +1 but the Blue Jackets lost in a shootout.

Bardreau placed on waivers by the Islanders today (2/17), probably in anticipation of sending him back down to Bridgeport, unless someone claims him first.
