It's nice to have a short thread to discuss the day. Let's do that here, with the exception of the most important game, of course.

Let's hope that ASU takes down Q today. I can easily cheer for Clarkson, and I even found myself pulling for Harvard briefly yesterday, but I hate, hate the Bobcats and all they stand for.

The other game in our regional should provide very good intel on whether we can hang with Mankato. (Remember that?)

And at 9 EST, go AIC!

+1.  I can root for Harvard (or even Gaudet-coached Dartmouth if it came to it) in the NCAAs without reservation, but I hate even having Quinnipiac Marketing, Inc. associated with the ECAC.  The sooner they're out, the better.  (Which means that all the hopes of the ECAC rest with Cornell now, as far as I'm concerned.)

Well, if we end up playing the Mavericks, our defensemen are really going to have to watch their zone exits.

Minnesota State guy gets a deserved 5 min major and DQ, and Providence strikes immediately to take the 4-3 lead. Still over 3:30 left on the PP.

BTW, I think the woman doing the PBP is quite good.

Well, neither Cornell nor Northeastern will need to worry about that, as Providence has scored 6 unanswered (including an empty net)

Deserved five. An embellishment wouldn't have been outside the realm of possibility.

It helps to be the #4 seed home team!
03/23/02: Maine 4, Harvard 3
03/28/03: BU 6, Harvard 4
03/26/04: Maine 5, Harvard 4
03/26/05: UNH 3, Harvard 2
03/25/06: Maine 6, Harvard 1

-1 (assuming she is the same one doing our game now)

FWIW, I'd take her well before Melrose tho!

I'm listening to Jason, despite the slight lag....
"If a player won't go in the corners, he might as well take up checkers."

Why does she say "shot on net" when the shot misses the net? And ESPNews repeating the same intermission feature both intermissions? ::smashfreak::

D

I mostly liked the job she did, but sometimes she seemed unprepared. Example: "That shot is blocked by....a Providence player" and I really didn't like lines like "They pull the goaltender because it's win to stay in, here in the NCAdouble tournament!!" in the middle of an ongoing play.

A general comment on NCAA Day 2. With such a full slate of games, this is always one of my favorite days of the year, and when your team turns in one of the best-played games of the year, it's such a high.

Iceberg

Q is up 2-0 well into the 2nd now. They're looking significantly better than ASU so far

They are significantly better.

ASU is not very good on D.. they have some quickness though if you play sloppy
