Kubes looked very good in his brief time with the Isles and got sent down to Bridegport.  Snow made the right noises about being impressed.  The lifers on the Isles' boards think he has potential as a later season spot call up to fill in for injuries.  Not projected as a future regular, but he certainly has the chance -- it's up to him, now.

Bummer, sounds like he's playing very well.  Think this has much to do with the fact that they can send him down without losing his rights vs some others needing to clear waivers.

Riley Nash had a busier night than usual (16:37 and won 8 of 13 faceoffs), in large part because of Bergeron's absence. A power-play regular with the Hurricanes, the ex-Cornell standout has more game than he's been asked to provide here in third- and fourth-line roles.
