Looks like no Ivy Leaguers chosen in the 2017 NFL draft. https://www.landof10.com/big-ten/nfl-draft-2017-picks-results-7-rounds

Cornell MVP Chris Fraser was rated one of the top 10 punters eligible. No punters at all were drafted. http://www.draftcountdown.com/nfl-draft-ranking/2017-punter-rankings/  He was invited to the 49rs and Bears minicamps: http://cornellsun.com/2017/04/30/fraser-17-invited-to-bears-49ers-rookie-minicamps/  Story on Fraser keeping in touch with Cornellians in pro football to prepare himself: http://cornellsun.com/2017/04/09/in-quest-for-nfl-roster-fraser-17-relies-on-nfl-experienced-mentors/

http://www.bleedinggreennation.com/2017/3/17/14956836/nfl-draft-2017-underrated-players-eagles-list-wide-receiver-cornerback-running-back called Penn QB Alek Torgersen the most underrated QB prospect. To no effect. Not drafted, but invited to the Falcons try-out camp. The Daily Pennsylvanian noted, "...it's unlikely that Torgersen will slot straight into the starting lineup for the reigning NFC champions."   http://www.thedp.com/article/2017/04/penn-football-alek-torgersen-approached-by-atlanta-falcons

That is laugh out loud funny. It is also unlikely that I will be voted sexiest man alive 2017

but... it was meant as a joke. if you don't sense the tongue-in-cheek that's not on the daily pennsylvanian.

Deadpan delivery gets 'em every time. The DP went up a couple notches in my estimation after reading it.

Yes, thanks. Hence, my calling it hilarious and tongue-in-cheek response.

OK, just some joke-writing advice here; this

is what you say when you are being sarcastic in response to something that you believe is straight-faced and wrong. Even in that case it's a bad joke, but at least it makes sense. It doesn't make sense as a joke if you think the original line is tongue-in-cheek.

Thanks for the tip. yawn.

Chris Fraser is the team's MVP, is headed to an NFL training camp, and the most ink about him is who knew what, when, about the Daily Pennsylvanian's millennials writing, possibly, with a sense of irony.

Irony died when Kissinger won the Nobel Peace Prize.  The DP was exercising sarcasm with a side order of dumb luck.

Don't sleep on ugarte.  None of the rest of us get paid to be funny.

Well played. You almost forget about Kissinger and the Nobel with the swirl of 2016 news out of the capital.

Doonesbury helped with perspective back then with an early 1970s cartoon:
Co-Pilot of B-52 over North Vietnam: It's so green and lush and peaceful down there. Bomb bay doors open, sir.
Pilot: 'course, it feels a lot different from the ground. Release.

Let's be clear about how little I was ever paid to be funny. It was not a lot.

I even remember the book that was from. "Bravo for Life's Little Ironies."  Not to be confused with the book that had college hockey on the cover: "Just a French Major from the Bronx."

That was back when Doonesbury was funny.  Read: every strip before 1976, half of them before 1980, none since.

Comedy lesson #2 is that this is basically my joke restated and at the very least should have been told by anyone but the person who just said "don't sleep on ugarte".
