Weidner Inks Professional Deal With Iserlohn in Germany.

And from the article, my reason why I think he was our MVP:

"For the entire second half of the season, Weidner was by a wide margin the national leader in blocked shots per game for forwards (2.00). He was also the Big Red's faceoff ace, where he led the team with a 57.6 winning percentage. He ranks fourth in the nation in average faceoffs per game (25.2), as he could be found taking most defensive-zone draws. He also ranked 11th in ECAC Hockey games with a plus-10 rating, which is particularly impressive considering he centered a line that was typically matched up against the opposition's most potent lines."

About his new team:

"Weidner joins an Iserlohn squad that is one of 14 teams in the DEL, which is widely regarded as one of Europe's top leagues."

Sort of fits here.

Air Force loses sophomore goaltender Starrett to free-agent deal with Edmonton

So does mean Beau's parents don't have to be as schizophrenic next season?

Doesn't it mean a part of his signing bonus will be sent to Colorado Springs?

26. The Oilers signed an interesting prospect last week in Air Force goalie Shane Starrett. He's a big, talented guy at 6-foot-5, but a bit raw and over-aggressive from what I'm told. He was considering transferring to Cornell to play with his brother, Beau, a forward, but he's already approaching 23, so it's time. A few NHL clubs were looking at him, and you can't teach size. He's got a shot.

Not sure where to post this or if they have been teaming up every year. But, Garman and Scrivens are running a goalie camp!

According to Wikipedia -- "Most shots faced by a goaltender, during a shutout in a game, 59 (January 29, 2014)."

Riley Nash was called for a controversial penalty in OT last night, which led to a GWG and the series lead for Ottawa:

Very late in regulation, Nash took a hit to the head, in the clear opinion of the announcers, and then gave an elbow back.

Colin Greening scored the OT winner for the Marlies in Game 3 of the 1st round Calder Cup series vs. Albany.

Intriguing to hear Greening so animated talking about an AHL playoff game, having played almost 300 games in the NHL.  I'd be interested in learning when/why things started to go downhill for Colin after he averaged almost a point every-other game for the Sens, playing three full seasons, much of which was spent on their top line.  This year he posted only 10 goals and 14 assists and 69 games for the Marlies.

the salary cap happened...he was overpaid in a cap world and got squeezed out.
