It's all pretty simple isn't it? Shoot the puck and good things happen.

Their third line beat us in unsettled situations, and their freshman sharpshooter was lights out. But our first and second lines ate Toews and Miner-Barron for lunch, and we scored a power-play goal when we really needed one. Staying out of the box in the third always helps.

Tomorrow, I predict (am hoping for?) a goalie battle. I'm sure neither Garteig nor Gillam is all that happy with the last couple of games.

Let's go with 0-0 heading into the third. Angello hasn't scored in a bit, so he'll probably break the deadlock. And then I'll hope for a goal from an unlikely source to salt it away—say, Freschi, shorthanded.

We have scored 13 goals against Q this season.
(And given up 16.)

Strange to think that we, not Yale, are still battling for a spot at Lake Placid.

Quote from: BearLoverDid anyone else think the Q players celebrated extra obnoxiously after their goals?  God I hate this team.

This is the rare advantage of listening on WHCU.

Quote from: andyw2100I guess I've never thought about this before, and I'm showing my ignorance, but what aspect of what rule allows for the goalie to return to the ice as a substitution after an icing when the team had the goalie pulled?

Section 10, rule 85.4

Section 10, rule 85.4

85.4 Change of Players on Icing - A team that is in violation of this rule shall
not be permitted to make any player substitutions before the next faceoff.
A team will be permitted to use its timeout for rules that do not allow a
substitution of players. The team that is prevented by rule from substituting
its players must call the timeout to be allowed to change.

A team shall be permitted to make a player substitution to replace a
goalkeeper who had been substituted for an extra attacker, to replace an
injured player, or when a penalty is assessed that affects the on-ice strength
of either team.

so in reading this if the other team calls the TO you are not allowed to sub on an icing other than the goalie

Not sure why Buckles was getting benched, whether it was lack of effort or dumb penalties or what, but at least he's a guy who knows how to actually score...

Excuse me, but Bo Pieper? Really??
Is that a Minnesota, long-hard winter, sheep thing??
I bet his parents are an interesting pair.
WTF?

Discipline....    We're better than the past couple of years.... But nowhere near as disciplined as Schafer's early teams.   Another Schafer decline......

Things really came full circle for this group of seniors.  Decimated by Q to end their freshman season.  Decimated by Q to end their Cornell careers.

In 2013 we were one minute from shocking Q and advancing to (Atlantic City, I guess).  The middle game was a rout but the other 2 were fantastic efforts.

I know the proper thing to do now is lick our wounds and mope about Schafer, but I'm wondering if we have any shot of slipping in at 15th in the Pairwise if UMD loses their semifinal and consolation game.  That miiiiiight just knock them below us in RPI.

We'd need Michigan Tech and Michigan to win their conferences.  I don't think UMD losing twice will be enough, though.

Shame that Hockey East has no consolation game.  Two losses might knock Northeastern below us.
