Recruits 2016 and Beyond

According to Elite Prospects, 3 Cornell commitments (Kyle Betts   , Matthew Cairns, Cameron Donaldson) have moved to the Powell River Kings (BCHL) over the last 12 months, joining a fourth (Tristan Mullin).  Per their website these are the only 4 college commits on their roster.  Nanaimo II?

If so, I don't like it.  I'd much rather have our guys playing at a level where there are other NCAA level players.  Being the top 4 on a single team can't be great for development.

Perhaps some of those guys are headed for major junior.

I could be wrong, but I think there have been cadets from Taiwan and formerly South VietNam in the past. The admissions website states that an applicant must be a "U.S. citizen (exception: see International Admissions.)"

The International Admissions page includes the statement "Up to 60 international cadets may study at West Point at any given time. Eligible countries are selected on an annual basis by the U.S. State Department and the U.S. Department of Defense. The American embassies notify invited nations to nominate up to six candidates per country to compete for admission to West Point."

So they COULD get two good forward lines a year from Sweden. Maybe six defensemen from Canada.  Coupla goaltenders from Finland.  Probably no Russians.

Not for a couple of more weeks anyway. :-D

Big loss. Limoges was the cornerstone of the class. Never really understood his commitment as I don't see the point in skilled forwards coming to Cornell as long as Mike is in charge...still, it was nice to dream.
