Hence the both rise and fall part.

I have no objection to moving in the polls when you don't play.  It's moving in both directions that seems odd.

One is the glass-half-full poll.

Nonetheless, it has the same explanation: just different sets of morons trying to derive a total order from limited pairwise information.

You really think they pay attention to Pairwise, say nothing of KRACH? You do give them alot of credit.

I hope this was a joke. "pairwise" with a lowercase 'p', meaning the results of games which are played between pairs of teams.

It's different sets of individuals trying to make sense of the game results and their own preconceived notions.

Seriously though, I think many of the pollsters do look at the Pairwise. I think this is pretty clear late in the season when the polls start to converge toward the rankings.  Early on though they give less weight to the rankings and more to their own preconceived notions.  Which isn't necessarily a bad thing given the small sample size issues.

As far as I know this is the only poll out this week.

I find it curious that the poll published by The Official Newspaper You Find On The Floor Outside Every Hotel Room isn't done during the busiest travel period of the year.  :-}

Up a position in both polls. Did the poll voters finally notice the Florida tournament results, or was it our whupping the Russian youths?

Wisco and Notre Dame both lost; they had been immediately in front of us.  Miami, the other team we jumped over, is really in a virtual tie with us.

I also have a feeling people are starting to look at the PWR now.

5 ECAC teams in the top 12 is outstanding!  I can only imagine the gnashing of western teeth if we wind up with that many teams in the tourney.  :)

Not exactly a "Polls" item, but.....

I just stumbled across a Minnesota Goofers Vs. Penn State hockey game on BTN, Ch. 610 on DirecTV.

Since I have not yet seen PSU play, this interesting to me.   I plug my nose & tolerate the goofers...

1-0 Minnesota late in the first.    I suspect this game is not live but have no interest in looking for the outcome.

Still 12th in the polls. We all were hoping for Cornell movement in the polls after the Lynah thaw. Would have been nice to see how a cancellation compares to a bye week for poll movement purposes.
