Quinnipiac has a transfer from Bowling Green, Jordan Samuels-Thomas, who led BG in scoring his first two seasons. He sat out last year after transferring and scored the GWG late in the third period against Maine last night. Apparently, both coaches had agreed to play 4-on-4 OT if it had come down to that! My guess is Schafer isn't going to want to play 4-on-4 in OT in non-league games when both coaches have to agree to do so.

If you were at Messa Rink for the unfurling of the four banners from the 2011-12 season, did you think it was exciting?

To me, it was disappointing. The two spotlights barely showed the unfurling of the ECACH tournament and NCAA tournament championship banners. And, at least from my vantage point from the press box across the rink, we never saw the ECACH Cleary Cup and NCAA Frozen Four banners come down.

Union has the same problem last year. Next time, I hope they keep the lights on so fans can see what's going on.

Maybe they're not planning on a next time.:-D

I guess my only problem with Union hoisting four banners is the redundancy of having separate "NCAA Regional Champion" and "Frozen Four" banners.

Edit: My mistake. It seems one lists the NCAA Tournament appearances, and the other is a Frozen Four banner. This is the only time I've ever seen the word "Whitelaw" on any banner in the league. I wonder now if the other says "Cleary Cup" ::barf::

At this rate, maybe we should cancel all our scheduled games. If not losing (or playing) one game moves us up from #6 to #5, imagine where we'd be if we didn't play twenty or so games! ::woot::

Works almost as well as lacrosse, where you can schedule top teams, lose to them, and get a higher NCAA seeding.::screwy::

We should have Frozen Four Banners in addition to the NCAA Tournament (appearance) and National Champion banners.
