Time for everyone's favorite game: find weird NCAA scenarios. http://www.collegehockeynews.com/ratings/yatc.php

Would be even better if it was an all-ECAC FF in St. Paul. ::dribble::

I'll settle for a FF with an ECAC team in it.

Last FF:

CHA: 2009 (now defunct)
AHA: 2010
CCHA: 2010
HEA: 2010
WCHA: 2010
ECAC: 2003

The last time there were 2 ECAC teams in the Frozen Four, one of them was Providence (1983).

The last time there were 2 current ECAC members in the Frozen Four, they were Cornell and Dartmouth (1980).

I forget what their current guidelines are - do they still avoid intraconference matchups in the first round, while still keeping teams in 1-4 5-8 9-12 13-16 bands?

Given the season we have had, if we should happen to make the NC$$ tourney, I'd be okay* with us being shipped to Timbuktu.

*provided there is an internet feed or tv coverage on a mainstream cable sports network ;-).

Trotsky

The ECACs are actually in negotiation with Timbuktu for the next site of their tournament.

I know what my intuition says about the answer to this question, but - is there any scenario in which Union doesn't make it?  Or are there just too many spots below them right now and not enough potential upsets?

Out of curiosity, does "Yale beats Colgate, Cornell beats Yale" not accomplish the same result (5 ECAC teams in the NCAA tourney), or did you just deem Cornell over Yale to be an implausible scenario?  :-}
