Can't believe it. Colgate = "monster" slayers.

This year's edition. Still, against Union. Is Union destined to have their ECAC hopes and dreams crushed every year?
If the answer is "yes" I'm OK with that.

Last year Colgate upset Yale in three games.

3 Dartmouth v. 4 Cornell

Schafer has never seen Dartmouth in ECAC championship weekend before, has he?

He's only seen Dartmouth once in the playoffs, First Round in 2008 (series won 2-1).

This is the first time a #12 team has advanced to the Semis. Brown advanced last season to the semis as #11.  #10's to make Championship weekend are: Vermont in 2001 (lost in play-in game) and RPI in 1992, which was a single-game QF format.

Of course, in 2001 Vermont beat #1 Clarkson in the quints. #12 Union? was on the golf course.

Still, Colgate plays Yale very tough.  Almost won in Hamilton.
"Yo Paulie - I don't see no crowd gathering 'round you neither."

Colgate is playing good hockey. This is all reminding me of 07-08 when Colgate beat first place Clarkson in three games. They then went on to the semis in Albany to get beat by Princeton 3-0. Let's hope this time they can hang with Yale. I'd love to see that upset, but I think Yale is just too good.

Had Cornell not lost the QF that Never Happened in 2004, they would have met Dartmouth in the SF.

Since Feb 11 they're 6-3-1 against ranked teams. Not bad.

And tied Yale at Ingalls.
