In addition to Cornell Big Red announcing incoming players, the ECAC Website has a story on 5 CU players invited to Canada's Under 22 camp. Since only 7 ECAC players were invited, that's not bad.

looks like it's six, because there's a separate paragraph about goaltenders, and Amanda Mazzotta was invited, along with a former Harvard goalie. So 6 of 8 :)

If you include incoming frosh, Campbell and Cudmore, Cornell has 8 attending Hockey Canada's U22 selection camp.  Also, income Frosh, Slebodnick, was one of 12 female goalies invited to the USA Hockey national team goaltending camp.

Make that 6 of 9.

Eight of the nine Cornellians at the Canadian U-22 selection camp have been named to the U-22 roster. Mazzotta, Fortino, Rougeau, Campbell, Jenner, Johnston, Karpenko and White made the team. Incoming freshman defense Cudmore did not.

Preseason ECAC Coaches' Poll is out...Cornell took 11/12 first place votes (a coach is not allowed to vote for their own team) with Clarkson taking the other first place vote.

The schedule, featuring an exhibition game with Etobicoke.  The home game against Clarkson is at 3 on the Saturday of the men's UAH homestand, so hopefully we can give them an atypically large and boisterous crowd.

So how did you know to look? When I've scrolled down to the poll link, it still lists 3/22; however when I click on it,  the current Women's poll does come up.:-O

It was posted on the women's forum on uscho.com.  I've noticed that they have been late in updating the date in the past so I typically check it every Monday afternoon regardless of what the date on the main page says.

Matt, What's the deal with Genevieve Lacasse? Doug Derraugh's article in the CHA newsletter said she was transferring in, but she's not on the Cornell's roster (still listed on PC's). She would have been a nice addition.

WOW.  I missed that article (though I would love to see it) and this is the first I heard Lacasse was looking to transfer. That certainly would have been a huge pickup.

Of the 8 CU players invited to the Canada National Team 4 Nations Cup camp (the same women who played for the U22 team in August), 2 were selected for the cup roster: Rebecca Johnston and freshman Brianne Jenner.  Congratulations to them both!
