ECAC Tiers

If you look at John's ECAC Bradley-Terry on TBRW, the tiering of the league at this point is quite evident:

I would say there are three tiers--high, mid, and low.  Clarkson is alone at the top, there are a mess of teams in the middle, and then Brown, Dartmouth, Colgate, and Union are in a "league of their own."  The two teams with split identities seem to be St. Lawrence and us:  will St. Lawrence join the unworthies or challenge for home ice in the quarters? will we challenge Clarkson for the regular season?

I'm somewhat bullish on how well we've played so far in league.  An early loss to Princeton looked bad, but look at them now.  We've handled the other two teams close to us, Quinnipiac and Yale, reasonably well.  Our only "bad loss" seems to have been to Harvard.

As often used to be the case, and as seems to be becoming the case again, our results against the North Country and on the Union-RPI roadtrip (always also dangerous) will go a long way towards defining who we are as a team.  A 2-2 record over the next four is absolutely essential if we're looking for home ice in the quarters, a 3-1 record would indicate that we might challenge Clarkson, and a 4-0 would be abso-******* wonderful.
