I just found this on SI.com while reading about this past weekend's games.

Quote of the Week IV

"The intent of the flex schedule was to make sure that, in the second half of the season, the primetime network package didn't get stuck with a bad game. It was never intended to cherry-pick the best game on Sunday and move it to prime time ... I think the Patriots versus Cornell would probably be a game [NBC] would put in prime time right now.''

-- CBS Sports and CBS News president Sean McManus, at the Fantasy Sports Association Sports Media and Technology Conference last week.

Two Ivy League teams hung 50 on us. There has only been one game that would be a suitable analog for a Patriots-Cornell matchup: Thanks, for confirming my memory, Wikipedia.

Though I don't think our game would be that close.

If Miami could muster 21 points on the Patriots I think Cornell has a FG in them.

My question, why Cornell? What about Columbia? I mean he went to Duke...wait that explains it he's nervous about the upcoming basketball game. ;-)

Quote from: CBS Sports and CBS News president Sean McManusI think the Patriots versus [thought balloon] The Patriots just beat the Buffalo Bills... for your example, use a school in upstate New York that people have heard of, but don't associate with sports... GOT IT! [/thought balloon] Cornell would probably be a game [NBC] would put in prime time right now.

I mean it couldn't have been the University of Buffalo? I get your point though.

But then he'd have to say "University of..." or everyone would say "What the hell? NBC just showed the Patriots beating Buffalo"

Given ugarte's criteria, it probably could have been any New York State college/university, save Syracuse. (Although given it's football, maybe it works for them too, now).
