probably depends on whether JHU wins... they'll get the choice.

Great. Antoher reason to be annoyed that we got screwed by the committee.

[quote RichH]Happy Lax weekend everyone!  One thing the NCAA did do well...scheduling.  Being able to watch every freaking game televised with minimal overlap was quite good.  Now all I have to do is find a barstool somewhere with ESPNU.

But Rich, the NC$$  either forgot to confirm these dates/times with Mother Nature or she too is miffed at the committee and the seeds they gave Duke and JHU :-P.

It makes me very sad to see all that rain in NC and in Baltimore. We haven't had any rain in over 2 weeks and none in sight until maybe Tuesday. My corn is not happy. Feel free to divert the rain to Indiana. ::help::

Hopkins and Notre Dame are playing, though according to the updates on Laxpower they've had a few lightning delays. 7-5 Hopkins in the 3rd quarter.

Currently 908 JHU with ~9 and a half mins left.

Jacob '06

ND ties it at 10 with 9 seconds left on what looked like a pass that went in, turns out it was actually a one-timer redirect.

scoop85

ND ties up JHU with 9 seconds left after a Rabil turnover.  Game now going to OT

scoop85

I'll be shocked if JHU loses this one -- they are the kings of the one-goal win.

Jacob '06

Unfortunately hopkins wins it.

scoop85

Well, the script has played out as predicted -- JHU wins 11-10.

Well it's officially on. Next week in Princeton: The battle for counting after each goal supremacy. In one game, the Hopkins band will mercilessly count hit a drum and count the number of goals scored and then declare, "we want more!" In the other game the cornell band will do the same. Hop fans will cry foul! "That's our super duper creative thing we've done forever." I'm not sure Cornell fans will care... Luckily, next week it's unlikely Hop will be scoring a ton of goals against either PU or GT. That will keep the math simple.

In all seriousness, why are they so damned attached to the counting thing? Have they never seen it anywhere else and honestly think is unique and creative? Just seems like a really pedestrian thing to get attached to.

My second favorite team is now officially the Princeton/Georgetown winner, preferably Princeton of course. Hoppin' John must be summarily dispatched next Saturday.

3-1 Princeton after the 1st quarter at Georgetown

In a slightly humorous note, the camera picked up the Hopkins coach in the stands at the game, in gray sweats and sunglasses.

Well considering that JHU-ND game ended after 11 pm...
Did he have a grungy baseball cap to complete "the look"? :-P
