Cole Bardreau and Jeff Kubiak both signed new contracts with the Bridgeport Islanders, where each has been for awhile.  Bardreau appeared in one game for the New York Islanders this past season.

Speaking of former Cornell defenseman... Matt Cairns was promoted to the Hartford Wolfpack of the AHL and played in two games over the weekend.  He joins Riley Nash to make it a Big Red two-for. If he's up through the week they play Friday in Syracuse.

I remember Cairns as a high draft pick with blink-and-you-miss him ice time and here he is, hanging tough with AHL time in three straight seasons after a trip to the Frozen Four with UMD. Wild.

Malinski with 12:02 of ice time and +1 for the Avs last night.  If there were 3rd assists, he would have gotten one as he did figure in the Avs 4th goal last night,  It is about 3:30 into this video (he's the right-handed d-man that makes the pass up the ice).
