If only.
If it isn't obvious already, I'm starting to crack. The only thing that keeps me from cracking is "athletic success is a shitty priority for the school no matter how much anxiety it causes me".

But seriously, figure out how to score some fucking goals or get someone who can figure it out.

Losing streaks really, really suck.  We will actually win again.

Yes, we will.

I'm hoping the following is not really as bad a sign as I feared.

Earlier today Facebook showed me a post I made from exactly seven years ago, when I was new to Facebook. I had uncharacteristically participated in sharing "25 Random Things About Me." Here are the first two:

1) I normally hate these viral type things, and never participate. I'm making an exception this time.

2) I just finished watching the Cornell hockey team, currently ranked 4th in the country, lose an embarrassing game 8-1 to Saint Lawrence. They won't be ranked 4th on Monday.

Quote from: MattShafAnother loss. 0-4-1 in the last five is rather pathetic. This team has regressed back to mediocrity at this point.

I promise I'm not trying to be all pollyanna, and we have had some serious problems in our play the last several games. But knowing what we thought about this team in October, if you'd been offered at that time an 11-6-3 record as of January 30 this season, how many of you would've declined?

I agree but I'm not going to be happy if we are .500 from here on out and we might be worse than that.  But if so I'll be ill to some extent.

Seeing them in Troy and Scenectady gives me hope. So here's to hope.
"When we came off, [Bitz] said, 'Thank God you scored that goal,'" Moulson said. "He would've killed me if I didn't."

We will likely get the four seed if we are slightly better than .500 from here on out. (I think 4th will require 25 or 26 points this year.) So, any combination that gets us 11 or 12 points. Win the games you gotta win and tie the rest. (Just don't lose, baby!)

So, yeah, I won't be happy with .500, but I think I'll be pretty OK with just a bit better than that.
