Did not realize they were "and ESPN Associate", whatever that means. Guess that wasn't enough to keep them going?

That "ESPN Associate" graphic has been there for a long time...within the first few years of INCH's existence.  My guess is that it meant that ESPN could cherry-pick INCH articles for their website in exchange for "legitimacy" by displaying ESPN's logo. Around tournament time there were a good number of INCH pieces on ESPN.com's college hockey section. Maybe there was an amount of cash involved as well; I don't want to speculate either way.
