Quote from: osorojoWhich one of the statisticians here has the best record for predicting upcoming games, versus analyzing past games? I'm retired and hate to waste precious time perusing column upon column of numerical historical examples leading to false conclusions. Honest. Who has the most successful record as a predictor of future games? I can read CHN for hockey history.

Age,

If you need a project perhaps we can work on an Ignore feature?  It would really help oso not see the stuff that gives him bad feewies.

Apparently no-one is willing to quantify the accuracy of predictions based upon the charts, graphs, and data compilations presented on this site, but I may be wrong.

Yale center Brett Jewell who was helped off the ice last night during the Cornell game is back in the Yale lineup tonight against Colgate.  I'm glad he was not seriously hurt.

Last night announcers said he was back in the third period.

Quote from: billhowardAbout time for Cornell to go into juggernaut mode. Did I hear the announcers say "first shutout of the year" for Cornell? I knew we'd blown some shutouts late in the third but it is our third.

I think they meant of 2020, not the season.

Anyone know when we last went a season without a shutout at home?
2011.

Thanks...left it pretty late that season.

Yup, you got it right.

According to an email from Schafer, it was Bauld who first suggested Yale was offside on the reviewed no-goal:

"Senior forward Noah Bauld was the first guy to say Yale had gone offsides. We checked with the guys upstairs, and Yale was clearly offsides. It was a good call by those guys looking at it, and it was a turning point, as we came right back and upped the score to 3-0 at 13:11 of the opening period."

A reminder that Brandon Thomas is a fucking national treasure.

We probably shouldn't let him write anymore since he exposes 97.8% of all other hockey writing as juvenile and/or inept.

Nothing terribly wrong with the writing. It's just the written analogue to a jar of Marshmallow Fluff.

Yeah, Brandon's writing is fantastic--both in style and in substance.
