Phone booth. That's what the locals apparently call it. It covers all of your telecoms.[/quote]

Do the kids today even know what a phone booth looks like? I don't see too many of them around these days. As a friend of mine (who finally relented and got a cell phone) said, "Superman would be fucked in today's world".

Oh the first Superman movie from the '70s already addressed the demise of the old-style phone booth.  The first time we see Metropolis in need of Superman, Clark Kent (Christopher Reeve) gives a cursory look at one of the open-air pay phones before zooming around in a revolving door very fast.  Because that's just as discrete as a glass phone booth.

Also, MCI/Verizon only went through one telecom name change.  What about the home of the SF Giants who have played in Pac Bell Park, SBC Park, and now AT&T Park which is all the same building that isn't 10 years old yet?  From wikipedia: "Others have named the stadium "The Phone Booth" or "Telephone Park", for the constant name changes, as well as "Mays Field" in honor of Giants great Willie Mays or simply "The Bell"."

It's still PacBell to me.  They can change the name on the sign but they can't make me use it.

Pfft. I still call it Candlestick. If the Giants are playing there, it is Candlestick.

And here I thought you were traditional.

Surely, you jest.  The Giants have and always will play in the Polo Grounds, dagnabit.

Modernist!  The Putnam Grounds forever!

(OK, that's a stretch.  But a stretch that feels appropriate for this board.)

You lose points for not mentioning Truck Nutz.

That clears up this issue if true.  Michigan at Camp Randall.  It's past 1 PM, but I'm not sure if the results of the press conference are confirmed.

Here's the official release:
