Losing to Quinnipiac didn't affect Cornell's 12th place standing in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll - Nov. 20, 2006. (Maybe hockey has mulligans?) The Fighting Deer Ticks are at least on the also-got-votes list with 8.

T15   Dartmouth      18   5-3-0   NR   3
T15   Northern Mich.   18   7-6-2   NR   1
Also: Colorado College, 15; Yale University, 11; Quinnipiac University, 8; University of Alaska Anchorage, 6; Michigan Tech University, 5; University of Alaska, 4; Sacred Heart University, 2; St. Lawrence University, 1.

Note the Florida Hockey Classic has No. 2 Maine, No. 8 UNH, No. 12 Cornell, and No. Unranked Western Michigan (not No. 15 Northern Michigan). Last year Cornell got the unranked team in first round; this year we don't. Beating both UNH and Maine would look great in our out-of-conference comparisons. On the other hand ...

Congratulations to Cornell for... giving Q it's first spot in the top 20. (It is their first, right? I can't imagine that they were voted into the top 20 in 2002.)

Why do we stop at 20? There aren't that many more teams to list.

We could do away with the polls altogether in the name of good sportsmanship declare that all teams are created equal....::innocent::
