And that'll be the game barring a miracle.

Ahh...sorry...was thinking tonight was the last game of the season for some reason.  (See, told you I wasn't in to hoops...I'm much more concerned about clinching a bye in hockey.)

Please educate an idiot.  Why haven't we clinched the Ivy title yet?  I just started hearing about the basketball team's success this week (living in Ohio, not a basketball fan and 7 years removed from graduation, I'm not exactly up to date on CU hoops).  According to ESPN we are 11-0 in conference, and Brown is 8-3.  Why, then, do we need to win tonight or have Brown lose to clinch the Ivy title.  Why haven't we clinched already?

Well, off to the draft....heading downtown to see what the action is like.  :)  I'll report if anything interesting goes down on the floor..

Hockey / Re: OT: Penguins Moving
March 05, 2007, 11:12:07 PM
As a Penguins fan, I just keep hoping they'll get a deal done in Pittsburgh.  While I root for the Blue Jackets on the side, living here in Columbus, my heart is with the Pens, and it would SUCK if they moved to KC.  I couldn't bring myself to cheer for the KC Pens.  Of course, then I'd devote to the CBJ entirely, though I must say the long term prospects are about 50 times better for the Penguins than the Blue Jackets right now.

Go Pens Go! (but, Stay Pens Stay!)

YEAR  OUTCOME IN ECACs
1996  1st (beat Harvard)
1997  2nd (lose to Clarkson. RichS rejoices.)

Huh?  Unless my memory is failing (and judging by the ECAC title list on the side, it's not...)

We beat Clarkson in '97 for the ECAC title.

Hockey / Re: USCHO Pre-Season Poll 9/25/06

I still think it's rediculous to rank 20 teams in Div-I NCAA hockey.  That's almost a third of the entire division.  Stupid.  Should be top 10, or go back to 15, but 10 would be my bet.

As mentioned, preseason polls are quite stupid too.  At least the hockey poll doesn't decide the national champion.

Hockey / Re: Alumni in the Pros -- September 2006

LeNeveu got hammered tonight, playing half the game, and allowing 3 goals on 9 shots.  Ouch.

On the positive side, I got to see my first live hockey game in a year and a half tonight, after living in Germany for 3.5 years (seeing one game in the DEL while over there).  I swung by Nationwide Arena to see the BlueJackets play the Blackhawks.  Unfortunately the CBJ lost, but it was great to smell the ice again.  :)  Too bad I almost certainly won't get to see the Red this year. :(

D'oh!  As a Pens fan, that would stink. I'd love to be able to cheer for a recent CU alum on my team.  All I have now is a SUCKS alum.

As much as I hated Welch while I was at CU, I have to cheer for him now.  As a die-hard Pittsburgh sports fan in all forms, it's unfortunate, but necessary.  GO WELCH (but cut out the own goals)

Great comeback for CU...hopefully we'll play the way we did the final 2 periods today in all 3 periods tomorrow.
