Noah Welch is a big fat idiot

So I come home after a long friday's night of partying...
And watch ESPN. The "Not-top-10" is on.  The second-to-last clip they show (number 2) is the halftime show at a clippers game, where some guy taking the half-court shot pulls a hammie.

The very last clip they show? You know, the number ONE "not-top-ten?" In the NHL, some guy is skating behind the goal, goes to center the puck before going past... "but rookie defenseman Noah Welch gets his stick on it and scores an own goal."

Yeah, Noah!

Edit: and here's the link:

Welch's own goal starts at about 1:34.

Coincidentally, Welch scored his first NHL goal in the very same game.  The clip of that goal follows the own goal.
Is next year here yet?

So, just like a Gordie is a goal, an assist, and a fight, a Noah will forever be known as a goal, an own goal, and a loss.  ::laugh::

Nice to see his first goal come after his first own goal.

As much as I hated Welch while I was at CU, I have to cheer for him now.  As a die-hard Pittsburgh sports fan in all forms, it's unfortunate, but necessary.  GO WELCH (but cut out the own goals)

It was actually a really nice goal too (I suppose it would've have been nicer had it been the other net)

Welch will be the only player in the NHL to have both coaches tell their teams to make sure to keep a body on him when he is near the net.  :-D
