Hockey / Re: "Spirit of Big Red is missed"

"Nobody in the league travels like the Big Red."

Would someone please tell the NCAA of this truth??????

We have heard time and again in the past that Clarkson travels the best, but the lack of energy in the TUC Friday night (until the thrid period theatrics) was self-evident.

Cornell fans just have more energy, a better color and a wider variety of entertaining chants than any other team in the East. Period.

You bet it's not the same when the Big Red is not in Albany, and next year, when we win it all, the NCAA BETTTER KEEP US IN THE EAST !!!!!!

It is truly embarrassing that 'hosts' RPI and UNION cannot even get to the quarters, much less to the tournament right in their own back yards, (for Union it's been 16 years, for RPI, 12 years.

I'm soooo unimpressed.
Further proof that it is an 'urban myth' that NYC marketing firms are groundbreaking.

Tell me that the ECAC could not have gotten something more memorable and exciting by hosting a logo competition among students of it's member schools??????

I know that expensive new logo is really going to excite the public to stand in long cold lines for tickets at next year's ECACHL-fragilistic league tournament !

Am I just a crab, or am i still Po'd and disappointed that the Big Red missed this year's tourney and path to my World series winning baseball team's home city --- St. Louis !!!!

Go Cardinals!!!!! Repeat in '07 !!!

Redice,

Whine away!! I'm with you (!) on the obvious discrimination that the NCAA selection committees have AGAINST Cornell staying in the East. Yes... isn't it amazing that SLU, third in the ECACHL tourney no less gets to stay in the East, and Cornell, had to toe the road twice before in the midwest, even though we did better. When we did get to play the quarter games in the east (NH & BC), at least we were 1 - 1 and made it to the frozen four once of the two.

In the midwest, we got 0-2 (both OT) in front of hostile crowds.

I would have thought SLU would have been sent out west. Clarkson I can see staying in the east.

I hope we will have more offense next year. :-)

Let's Go RED!!!!  (07-08)

Hockey / Re: ECAC playoffs - Cornell 4th, first round bye

The only positive thing to say is that the mighty Quinn is in the midst of their own scoring drought and if Union can spark for more than one game, they may very well pull the upset. Stranger things have happened this year. :-)

Way to go with the detailed recap, Marty !

Note only 18 Knaught shots - Our "D" was an iron blanket !  And we were supposed to be at a disadvantage on the "Big Sheet" up there... Oh PLEASE!!!

Equally interesting is that past 5 tourneys in Alb have alt. Harvard-Cornell.

JordanCS - You are CORRECT !!!!

I think '97 was the Knaughts "Todd White" god year and we whipped them good with a suffocating "D" up in Lake Placid - after all their talk -- hah !

I hope that posting was right, because I fear Q has the tie-breaker.

We beat them 2-0
They beat us 5-2
They went 0-2 vs. SLU, we went 0-2
They went 1-1 vs. CUknights, we were 1-0-1
They went 0-1-1 vs. DU, we went 0-2

Both have 5 pts against the top three. What's the next tie break? (because the've got us by a 3 goal differential)

Hi guys,

I'm thrilled if we do have the bye, but:

I'd like to know how we got the bye, as the USCHO story on yesterday's Quin-SLU stated:

"The Bobcats hold the tie breaker with Cornell, if they should happen to finish with the same amount of league points."

What is the order of tiebreaker?

Let's Go Big Red !
