Re: Home Stretch Contest - 10 years ago
Trotsky With all that inconsequential non-conference stuff out of the way, Cornell enters the home stretch with 13 conference games. Here's the contest. Predict the results of all the remaining games and list them here. You'll get 1 point for correctly picking a win or a loss and 2 for picking a tie. I'll do the tabulations each week to see how people stand. The deadline for submitting all yby Rita - Hockey

Jim Hyla KeithK semsox Scrivens traded to Edmonton for a 3rd round pick, after they sent Dubnyk to Nashville for Matt Hendricks earlier in the day. Tough break for Ben, but he should get more playing time. Tougher break for his wife, who is from the LA area. Sounds like the Kings were looking to cash in on Scrivens solidperformance while Quick was out. Selling high, if you will. Yes, the Kiby Rita - Hockey

RichH Swampy Where is this Disney, where people are wearing jackets, sweaters, and such? Can't speak for Florida (and why on earth would I possibly do that?), but that's how people dress in Southern California whenever it dips below 68F, only with more down-filled parkas. I'll pipe up for Florida and let's just say that earlier this week I was very happy that I kept my winter coat, scarves anby Rita - Hockey

Re: Maine 12/29 - 10 years ago
This was quite the entertaining game. Cornell definitely had the better of the play and chances and some very nice passing in the offensive zone. Just wished we could have buried a few of them. Rodger Craig did have a sweet opportunity for a go ahead goal late in the 3rd, I'm glad he got the shoot-out winner for the trophy.by Rita - Hockey
Women's Olympic Hockey update - 10 years ago
There was a lack of goodwill towards (wo)man and Christmas cheer at the exhibition game between the US and Canadian teams and Brianne Jenner was in the middle of it. Interesting note at the bottom of the article in that Kevin Dineen, former Hartford Whaler and most recent ex-Florida Panther coach is now coaching the Canadian women's team.by Rita - Hockey

LaJollaRed So, yeah? I live in South Florida now...I think I'm going to do it. The rink is a few hours away, so I think I'll just make it to one night, but any recommendations for things to do in Estero the afternoon of the game? As to what to do before the game, there is shopping at the Miromar Outlet Mall which is next door to the arena. Other shopping / dining options are the Coconut Poiby Rita - Hockey

data streaming question for the smart phone techies - 10 years ago
I was wondering if anyone knew how much data is used when you stream audio of a hockey game on your smart phone (and using the smart phone's data plan). I drive across alligator alley on Friday nights, thus miss quite a few of the Cornell games. I was thinking that if I actually have signal while on that stretch of I-75, I could in theory stream whcu's audio feed of the game. I'm on a limitedby Rita - John Spencer Is Dead

Josh '99 Trotsky So much for DC being a slam dunk. The 3 non-FL sites seem reasonable. TB is dependent on whether you believe in "growing the sport," as opposed to being rational and non-evil.TB was fun for those of us who went, which certainly seems like a rational, non-evil factor to consider. Re: Alumni in the Pros - November 2013 - 10 years ago
Even though it doesn't show up in the box score (just a +1), Colin Greening was key on the forecheck (got the Ottawa radio guys really excited) that led to Chris Neil's unassisted goal to put Ottawa on the scoreboard in what was eventually a 4-2 Sens win. Ottawa only had 6 shots in the first period, and 7 in the second, so it was almost like listening to Cornell .by Rita - Hockey
