scoop85 long overdue for a banana conga line Yes, lots of dancing bananas. With all the horrible news of the past few weeks, it is reassuring that Harvard still Sucks. I was happy to get up today and don my red and Cam Abbot Jersey. I've been mainly listening to the games this season and wow, what a special group.by Rita - Hockey
Re: Finally a sellout at Germain Arena (Fla) - 6 years ago
Hi everyone. yes, I made it okay and my family has fared well. We got power back very quickly (my brother and his family still do not have power and have moved in here with their kids and puggies) and today finally got back internet and cable. But our homes are safe and no major damage. My dog Eden who has very bad separation anxiety was wonderful. this sums it up: You (rita) leave, theby Rita - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Finally a sellout at Germain Arena (Fla) - 6 years ago
The whole shelter situation in florida is horrible. it was announced on friday night that Germain would open at 10 am. people started lining up (and parked their cars on the sidewalks) until they could be let in the building. Shelters are full and turning away people to another shelter. They increased the evac zones this morning and the counties have had to open more shelters. people waitinby Rita - John Spencer Is Dead

JC Tretter update. In the NFL free agency signing frenzy, JC Tretter left Green Bay to sign with the Cleveland Browns. 3 yr /16.75 million with 6.5 million guaranteed. He was on Sirius Radio/NFL Radio Monday 3/13 The Opening Drive show (10 am hour) with Bob Papa and Ross Tucker. Tretter said a major reason for signing with the Browns was that he would be the starting Center - a position tby Rita - Other Sports
Re: Florida College Classic - 7 years ago
Yes, wearing shorts is totally possible - I'm amazed at the number of people that do it for the Florida Classic and at Everblade games. You might want to consider bringing a sweatshirt since it is drafty in there and very little "body heat" from the human fans (or lack there of). I, on the other hand, am always cold so I'm bundled up in turtlenecks and sweatshirts.by Rita - Hockey
Re: Florida College Classic - 7 years ago
I am a maybe, likely no this year. My sweet girl (and avatar) Abby-Bâby passed away in July at the age of 11. She had a tumor on her heart and there were no options. I have adopted a new canine companion - Eden the Elf - a four year old 40 lb black and tan coonhound mix who has separation anxiety. I have only had her ~ 10 weeks and we are slowly working through this issue, but in theby Rita - Hockey
Re: ILDN - 7 years ago
I tried to watch on my samsung galaxy tab E, but the stream stopped shortly after it started and i got a message saying it wasn't compatible. I used CHROME as my browser to log into ILDN. I'll poke around in the support section - but if anyone has any insight, i'll take it. by the time I joined in (on the macbook), audio/video seemed in synch, but I was listening more than watching. Re: NCAA tournament 2016 - 8 years ago
RichH abmarks Trotsky Watching the game streamed with all the ambient noise and no commentary is the most pleasant broadcast I've ever experienced. PLEASE make this an option for all sports telecasts. Nobody needs the natterers. Silence them for good. especially if it is buccigross. he's even worse at hockey play-by-play than the kids on the Yale feed. Can't believe he gets paid to do thatby Rita - Hockey

Swampy Rita Saw this in today's (3/30/2016) Naples Daily Press. Almost spit up my breakfast. Re: ecac playoff broadcasts - 8 years ago
Jim Hyla Rita jumping the gun here... but are the ECAC semis and finals going to be on a cable TV station? Last year wasn't in on one of the Fox College Sport networks? Or is the whole darn tournament PAY-FOR-VIEW at $10/game? Even if Cornell wasn't in the finals, I'd watch on cable or ESPN3. But will not pay $$ unless Cornell is in it. And KUDOS to RPI.TV. I also hope they said to the Boby Rita - Hockey

Re: RPI Post-mortem - 8 years ago
RichH 23.5 seconds. They fail to close another game at home with a 3rd period lead. They had #6 w/ a series #11 Brown lined up & instead get #8 and face #9 Union. They had a situation where they would have completely avoided QU & YU in a QF series & now that's very likely. They could have improved on their bubble standing, & now need a big run to even make an argument anby Rita - Hockey

I'll be there both games, with a niece one night and a nephew the other. Hoping the boys can shed the rust somewhere in GA on the way down.by Rita - Hockey
Re: 10/24 vs Ryerson - 8 years ago
The info on the IVY Digital Network subscription packages. Note: Cornell's mens hockey season is 4 months + 1 week. So if you start your 4-month subscription today, you will need buy the day or month pass to get the last weekend of games. Remember, playoffs are a separate pay-for view event brought to you by ECAC hockey.by Rita - Hockey

Re: smart tvs, apple tv and streaming cornell hockey - 8 years ago
Thanks everyone for the input. I did get the google chromecast doo-hickey last night and got it installed on the 27 in tv, which is soon to be mine which will do double as an external monitor for work-at-home days and back up for when I do not get the big tv for Cornell hockey. Pretty easy installation and tested it out with some youtube videos and MLB.tv free game of the night. Last year, Iby Rita - John Spencer Is Dead

smart tvs, apple tv and streaming cornell hockey - 8 years ago
About 2 months to live Cornell Hockey. I'm seriously considering upgrading my parents TV and looking at smart tvs (1080 v. 4K) and ways to stream certain video content without having my macbook hooked up to the tv via HDMI cables. My two areas of interests are 1) streaming Cornell hockey and 2) NFL.com/game pass all 22 film so my dad and I can play armchair QB and dissect the Giants O-lineby Rita - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Women's Hockey 2015 - 9 years ago
The women grab a 2-1 lead early in the third and then implode. Harvard quickly ties it and goes on a goal scoring spree. 7-3 is the final. I'm not a PWR guru, but I think the women are out of the NC$$ tourney; they needed to win today to get the auto bid. Seems very weird to have hockey end so soon.by Rita - Hockey
W Hockey v. harvard ESPN 3 3/8/15 - 9 years ago
From the ECAC website: "With the win, Harvard moves on to play Ivy League rival Cornell in the ECAC Championship game Sunday at 2 p.m. The game, which determines who earns the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, will be aired live on ESPN3 in front of a national audience." After a very frustrating drive home from work today, I would like to send a lot of "snow birds" to Ithaca and other points north! And no, I do not work for the Florida Tourism Bureau.by Rita - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: What a difference one goal makes - 9 years ago
RichH KGR11 Right now, that's not happening. 2014 & 2012 hit that objective. 2013 & 2011 have not. Motion to outlaw odd-numbered years for the time-being. BC would probably second the motion.by Rita - Hockey

Re: Alumni in the pros -- January 2015 - 9 years ago
I got to see Andy Iles tonight. He is still on the FL Everblades roster and tonight he was not the answer to the question of "who was the Everblades starting goalie". So his action was limited to the skate between the bench and lockerroom . According to team stats, he has played in 14 games, 7-5 record with 0.898 save % and 2.95 GAA and a shutout. Jeff Hopkins '82 Couldn't find any dancing fish, huh? I've been audio only this season so I;m not up on the latest and greatest in Cornell video, but I just looked at the goals Marty posted (thank you!). May be the person who did the "exploding bear" thing before the replays can make dancing fish for us .by Rita - Hockey
