Re: Worcester? - 22 years ago
I posted this on another thread but: Just bought through Ticketmaster and for Sunday could not get 2 together. Suggest you get them now. Cornell is staying at the Holiday Inn, but no rooms available by internet. Suspect something might be going on there after the game. Will need to see what the Hockey Assoc. will do, if anything.by Jim Hyla - Hockey

Re: Moy/Blaeser this week - 22 years ago
Left coast types can discuss. I'm going to bed. Good idea, I was going to say I'm with you, but I don't think my wife, say nothing about myself, would like that.by Jim Hyla - Hockey

Re: Directions to LP - 22 years ago
Fort Drum exit is 48. Yes it's alot faster going to 48. If you use 45, you go through Watertown, a no-no. The roads off of 48 are 2-4 lanes and made for travel to Rte. 3 , 11, and Fort Drum. Definately faster. You'll see once you get on it, that it's a travel road with alot of gas stations, etc..by Jim Hyla - Hockey
Directions to LP - 22 years ago
Since this was asked on another thread, I tnought I'd give some tips. Go via 81 to 3. See this . Get off at exit 48 and take 342 to 283 to 3. Don't worry if you miss 283 as you'll get to 3 anyway. At Deferiet take 3A to get back to 3. This saves 5-10 min. See this . No other tips except, if you are really late, Tupper Lake, Saranac Lake, and LP all have McD easy to reach. Re: ECAC Semis in NY/NJ - 22 years ago
Hey, I'm a couple hundred miles away and will be there. Bringing my family too. My 8 yo knows most of the players. That will probably change by 5 years from now, but I'll take it as long as I can. As for large NY law firms, you could always leave the big town and come to small town USA. Sometimes the living really is easier.by Jim Hyla - Hockey

Re: COTY - 22 years ago
Unfortuately, those blown away often lost by a goal or two. Thus in a single game elimination you can lose. That's also why best two of three is good for the early rounds, Just look at Michigan this year. With the game we play we can lose to a good goaltender, so don't be floored. After all, we have won in the past due to good (excellent) goaltending.by Jim Hyla - Hockey
Re: Teams Under Consideration - 22 years ago
Tom Cornell-Harvard would be nice, but only if Cornell wins and Niagara takes the CHA tournament. Personally, I think a Cornell-Clarkson final would be just as sweet. Especially if Cornell wins. Actually, most of us would probably agree that anyone and Cornell would be good if Cornell wins.by Jim Hyla - Hockey

LP-Accommodations, etc. - 22 years ago
Well, as they say, time to put this one behind us and on to next weekend. Isn't it sweet? My family will be staying at the Best Western, as usual. I heard from the CHA this past weekend, that the Cornell coaches, family, CHA members etc. will be there in a block of 50 rooms. They told me that the number one seed gets its choice of hotels. The players are at the Olympic complex. I assume theby Jim Hyla - Hockey
Yale-Cornell Part II - 22 years ago
I thought I'd start a new thread for todays game. Besides I was getting tired of having to expand the window size to read the whole post. Anyway, I don't know if you all regularly read the Ithaca Journal, but they have a nice picture of Murray's goal.by Jim Hyla - Hockey
Re: #1 defense - 22 years ago
(Oh... one more thing... What is it about Cornell and 2nd periods?! The Red advantage in the middle "stanza" is now up to 46-17. This is a sore point for some of us long time season ticket holders. As I mentioned on another post, a number, too many I'm afraid, of years ago Cornell switched ends that they would defend for the first and third periods. The theory was that it was easier foby Jim Hyla - Hockey
Re: Live Score Updates - 22 years ago
I don't know if anyone found the running score useful. Since I plan on being at all remaining games I won't be able to do it anymore. If anyone wants to, contact Age. It's easy. I'd be happy to help anyone.by Jim Hyla - Hockey

Re: Next year's schedule - 22 years ago
Contact the athletic dept. scheduling office. I don't have the lady's name at home, but I'm sure the athletic dept. can get you to her. They do know some of the schedule already. Since I have to make up my on-call schedule a year in advance, I always call her during the beginning of one season for next season's schedule. Un fortunately it's never written in stone, but they do have something. I'mby Jim Hyla - Hockey

Re: Live Score Updates - 22 years ago
Well, if anyone noticed, it works if the data gets inputed. That is, the score of the game can be viewed at the top left of the eLynah page. Age, at my request has put in a system so we can all add the current score or time of the game. Unfortunately because of work I could not get here till near the end of the second period to start it. I thought it would be useful, especially for those who cby Jim Hyla - Hockey
