Re: Men's Basketball 22-23 - 1 year ago
upprdeck guess they couldt get access to the gym after lunch True. On the plus side, with the big conferences mostly starting later in the day, and the games on national tv (ESPNU), we might get a lot of eyeballs. Guess that’s a positive.by CU2007 - Other Sports

abmarks For those questioning the Krach based predictions, particularly the chance of winning the ECAC tournament, here's a comparable analysis. I was curious about the Tournament Champ distribution by seed but couldn't find the data easily; and even if I found it there'd be a small sample size. What I did find was data from the 1985 to 2019 NCAA men's hoop tournaments. With 64 team fielby CU2007 - Hockey

Dafatone Trotsky How in the <your profanity here> did Alaska get so high? They've been splitting pairs against such luminaries as LIU and ASU all season. Did they find an exploit in the algorithm? They have played 11 home games and 21 road games. Which makes sense because who wants to go there. But as I've ranted about, road wins are 1.5x better than home wins and road losses are 66%by CU2007 - Hockey
Re: Men's Basketball 22-23 - 1 year ago
Strangely, the final games next weekend are not all at the same time. So Cornell will need to win at 2PM and then huddle around a TV and root for Yale at 7:30PMby CU2007 - Other Sports

Re: Men's Basketball 22-23 - 1 year ago
mountainred Pretty brutal second half. Cornell is still the 4 seed with a win v. Columbia and a Brown loss to Yale. As Upperdeck says, Yale will be playing for the top seed and the chance to avoid Penn/Princeton, so there is something. Not that I see this team winning a game at the ILT right now. Seem to have really fallen off after the hot start. Wasn’t someone important hurt? Is he back/by CU2007 - Other Sports

upprdeck pretty much the same as several other key players in cornells best sports have been handled.. Hard to find out information even when it’s pretty clear whats happening,. Lost - what’s happening? My view is these are kids, don’t expect daily updates on their availability as if they play for the Yankees. Maybe I’m in the minority.by CU2007 - Other Sports
Re: #13 Cornell at Brown, Feb 24 - 1 year ago
Two things - it’s a big failure on the league’s part that there is such confusion over the Ivy League standings - even amongst devoted fans like this page. Amateurish Caron is a great goalie. Type of goalie a good team could lose in the ECAC quarters 2-1(OT) in game 1 and 1-0 in game 3. Masks a truly awful Brown teamby CU2007 - Hockey

Re: Hanover Schützenfest: Cornell at Dartmouth - 1 year ago
Im on the other end of this. I think posts that say “goal Berard, 1-0 Cornell” are basically spam. I can see that on the live stats or the box score - adds nothing of value.by CU2007 - Hockey

abmarks BearLover Thanks to the Pairwise, it’s really hard to justify not putting out your best lineup every night. Must be that portion of the lunar cycle where Bearlover and good take meet. Delivery could use work but there is no doubt he has great hockey insight.by CU2007 - Hockey

Re: IT'S A TRAP! Cornell vs Princeton - 1 year ago
Trotsky George64 Trotsky Cornell 3 Princeton 2 Colgate 3 Quinnipiac 2 Brown 3 Harvard 2 In the ECAC, Cornell is now only one point behind Harvard for second place, although having played two fewer games. Another way to put this is the percentage of the 3-oints received for each game (I won't call it inning percentage because hockey has apparently now evolved beyond such quotidian concepts).by CU2007 - Hockey

Re: 2022-23 Predictions - 1 year ago
Swampy osorojo Harvard has 15 or 16 hockey players who currently have contracts with NHL teams. How many current C.U. hockey players have contracts with NHL teams, and who are these professional prospects? Contracts? Do draft picks have contracts while they're still in college? I always thought contracts involve some compensation, and I haven't been following the rules on NIL. So, maybe theby CU2007 - Hockey
Re: 2022-23 Predictions - 1 year ago
Dafatone BearLover Cornell has dug themselves a hole. In particular, starting the season at Minn-Duluth is killing them. The Red really need to win a high percentage of their remaining games to compete for an at-large bid. It’s possible—Cornell has been playing pretty well lately—but I think it’s unlikely at this point. There is no strategic or intelligent discussion in the above paragraph. Buby CU2007 - Hockey

RichH marty 3 x 3 about to play out in Troy after Sucks ties the game in the 3rd. Scanning to see what other games are on and spotted Delaware @ Liberty. I blinked. Listed as “NCAAM hockey.” No. When did ESPN+ start showing club team games? Bizarre. Liberty has some sort of strange arrangement and has had their club team on espn for years.by CU2007 - Hockey
