Re: NCAA regionals in Springfield - 5 weeks ago
fastforward BearLover Dunc Unfortunately for us students a lot of people may have Prelims the Thursday before spring break - I imagine some will try to come on Saturday tho if we advance Hopefully the hockey players don’t. Most of them do and they have to leave 2 days ahead so they may miss several So how’s that gonna work?by BearLover - Hockey

Swampy Beeeej JasonN95 chimpfood Schafer quoted in the CHN article as saying “Im on the back 9 here.” Although it really isn’t a shock, it is sad to hear him say with the guy having been coach as long as I can remember. ER Wow those are some bold, completely unsubstantiated projections. I was in the Greek system and never knew of or saw anyone “doing coke” at a party. I don’t even think it was a thing when I was in school. Way to perpetuate the rumors that all Greeks like to do is party though. Not sure when you attended Cornell, but I know for a fact there are multiple fraternities and sororities where doing coby BearLover - Hockey

upprdeck at large vs auto does nothing to the seedings. the autos could be 13-16 just as easy as an at large Not this year. This year, the autobids are 15 and 16. EDIT: I meant the autobids from AHA and CCHA.by BearLover - Hockey
Re: ECAC Final - St. Lawrence?! - 5 weeks ago
upprdeck just avoid BC is the goal. Omaha is hot 12-13 would mean msu of Ndak before they play with it We can’t possibly play BC, right? They’re the #1 overall, so they’d get one of the auto-bids.by BearLover - Hockey

CU77 mike1960 Cornell lacrosse won. Cornell won the ECAC hockey championship. Arujau wins another national title in wrestling. A very good day! Absolutely! Let’s Go Red!by BearLover - Other Sports

Iceberg ER What if we had lost tonight? From what I've read there would've been no shot at an at-large as 14-16 would've been taken up by the AHA, CCHA, and SLU. And as far as next week, it seems that a re-match with Denver is inevitable, although in the western regional this time Better than having to play BU or BC.by BearLover - Hockey

Big Dingus Well - what should we complain about tonight Bearlover? I think you, blackwidow, and osorojo need to huddle up and figure something out.by BearLover - Hockey

After all the shit that has happened to this program the last few seasons, from getting jobbed in the title game in 2019 to being big favorites in 2020 and the season getting canceled to it again being canceled in 2021 to badly outplaying Colgate in 2022 but losing to the OT loss versus Harvard last year—I’m glad the puck FINALLY bounced Cornell’s way for once. I don’t think we looked decidedly bby BearLover - Hockey

ice ugarte Iceberg Well, O'Leary won't have nightmares about the initial empty net miss. Fantastic runafter everyone gets there celebration in... why wasn't that icing on Bancroft? It looked like icing should have been called. Not sure what happened. I assumed because O’Leary was winning the race to the puck?by BearLover - Hockey
Re: Lake Placid-2024 - 5 weeks ago
Can someone explain what the problem with Albany was? If you live in the tri-state area it is easily accessible. Lake Placid is not. Many more fans would be able to attend the games if it were held in a more central location like Albany. Was Albany attendance not higher than Lake Placid? Personally, I’m probably never making it up to Lake Placid, but Albany would be easy for me and I’d go most/alby BearLover - Hockey

BearLover ugarte BearLover ugarte By the end of that period it's fair to say we were not getting outplayed. Great work by Castagna to stay with the puck and attack the net to take the lead. We've made some good hits and are blocking shots like crazy. 1-0 after one. Very nice. Possession has been tilted towards St. Lawrence but Cornell has been solid defensively in its own zone. Still, that isby BearLover - Hockey

Who cares about the 3-seed? Let’s win a championship for once. That would punch our ticket to the NCAAs. Seeding barely matters at all.by BearLover - Hockey
Re: Lake Placid-2024 - 5 weeks ago
Since I’ve seen them mentioned today—the comeback against Princeton in the ECAC semis and the blown opportunity against Bemidji both occurred my freshman year. Quite an introduction to Cornell hockey. At the time, I didn’t realize how big of a deal the Bemidji loss was.by BearLover - Hockey

dbilmes BearLover When asked in the postgame interview what the message was coming out for the third, Walsh said that they “were just doing it for a lot of the guys leaving, especially the younger guys.” Huh? I took it to mean he meant the younger players were especially trying to win this for the older players. If he had a chance to answer again, he would probably give a more coherent answer. upprdeck the number of times we unpressured throw blind passes up the wall is killing us. still positionally played better. one bad play turns into a goal. Dart made several that led to nothing. the 2 on 1. pass it one time and you make the d commit.. but we just glide until no room is left the giveway had time to control puck and not take a wild sliding shot on a rolling puck. andyw2100 On the road to Lake Placid with Kim. Wondering how others feel about rooting interest in the SLU vs. Quinnipiac game. Personally I'm rooting for SLU, because I think Cornell has a greater chance of beating them should we beat Dartmouth and make the finals. (And because Quinnipiac is high on my list of teams to dislike.) But I expect some here will be rooting for Quinnipiac, with the logby BearLover - Hockey
