Trotsky Chris '03 sah67 Ray Sawada is now playing alongside Mark McCutcheon for the Belfast Giants of the EIHL: The future home of the beanpot? Hold the Beanpot in a moribund shithole in front of viciously paroachial drunkards, and then a year later move it to Ireland? Trotsky Josh '99 Take Away Harvard's Nonprofit Status This might be far enough afield to belong in JSID, but it occurred to me to post it here because Harvard sucks, so...I hate Harvard as much as the next guy, but that article is breathtakingly stupid. KeithK RichH Harvard price-gouging: Most games: $20 Yale game: $25 Cornell game: $30 I find it amazing that they can charge $20 for every other game. It's not like they've been good or anything. I think in this case the revenue derived from Sucks fans paying $20 or $0.05 or $1000 per ticket would be the same.by Towerroad - Hockey

upprdeck I know all the kentucky FR bball players played in their Jamaica trip the last couple of weeks. Perhaps they need to be doing summer session stuff? I would think if it were possible the kids would find a way to do it to get a jump on things. I think the rules ($$$) for Kentucky are different.by Towerroad - Hockey

LaJollaRed Josh '99 TimV Love summer, but miss hockey. Cruising You Tube, there's a lot of fun videos. Found this one on Colgate Hockey. No mention of free pizza though. RichH CAS Many highly regarded players committed to attend Cornell in the next 2-3 years. Congrats to the coaching staff. Drop the puck! Like Trotsky hinted at, we've had "highly regarded" players lined up in the pipelines many times before. There's a lot that can happen to 16-17 year olds. Re: 2015! - 10 years ago
djk26 I wish I had a Cornell lacrosse game to watch this weeked. But there isn't one, so I'm looking forward to 2015. Too early, maybe, but here's my question: Does anyone have any information on who the out of conference opponents will be next year? I assume we will have a home date with Michigan after playing them on the road this year. Does that apply to Hofstra, too? And we playby Towerroad - Other Sports
Re: Lax Coach-Poll - 10 years ago
billhoward TimV... Off the top of my head, Brown, Dartmouth, Georgetown, Hobart, Navy, Providence, Virginia. Georgetown let him go 2 years ago. Kerwick already coached at Hobart and I think we're agreed Steve Donahue wouldn't return from BC to Cornell, so not sure why Kerwick would return to Hobart, unless he found Ithaca too bustling and noisy. The others are slots to think about: Brown, Navby Towerroad - Other Sports

TimV Towerroad Let me ask the opposite question: You are Coach Kerwick: Cornell decides to do a full search. What other programs might be looking for a new coach? Good point. Off the top of my head, Brown, Dartmouth, Georgetown, Hobart, Navy, Providence, Virginia. Did I miss anybody? Just to be clear, I am not against hiring Kerwick, just think that it's reasonable to consider optionby Towerroad - Other Sports

Re: Lax Coach-Poll - 10 years ago
CU77 Only coach that intrigues me is Pressler. If Cornell is open to that, he's presumably already been asked if he's at all interested. If not, I say sign Kerwick now. The other thing that has to be kept in mind: what happened to the last (non-interim) Richard M. Moran Head Coach of Men's Lacrosse at Cornell University. Any prospective coach has to be skittish about taking a job with a boss wby Towerroad - Other Sports
Re: Lax Coach-Poll - 10 years ago
The big question in my mind is that if we initate a full search then, Kerwick will likely have to do the same. I think we can all agree (to the extent that Cornellians ever agree about anything, except Harvard) Kerwick did a good job this year. 1. I don't see Kerwick staying if someone else is offered the job. It would be incredibly difficult for the new coach and Kerwick. 2. Lax is groby Towerroad - Other Sports

toddlose billhoward Maryland is 11-3. Its best wins are 16-8 at Syracuse in February back when Syracuse seemed to be having an off year, and 10-6 hosting Duke March 1. Worst loss April 12 at Hopkins 11-6, along with an 11-8 loss at NC and 6-5 to Notre Dame in the ACC tournament. All their losses were on the road; the closest home win as by 2 over Villanova.
