Bay Area CA viewing party on Sunday - 19 years ago
SEE THE NEW POSTING BELOW re: Sunday 3/27/05 Just want to thank Rana Glasgal '87 for arranging a last-minute viewing party at the Ice Oasis in Redwood City where she plays ice hockey. Alex, Ron, Rich, my wife Rebecca, and I joined Rana and her husband Bruce for the Harvard-Cornell game, watching it on the big screen in the club house upstairs. It was awesome to be part of the "live actiby CU at Stanford - Hockey
Re: Volonnino loves porno - 19 years ago
Wasn't Mike Volonnino that idiot Crimson writer whom many Cornellians subscribed on his behalf to various porno websites a few years ago? If so, he is hardly objective to make a comparison between Hyphen and McKee, writing for USCHO.com notwithstanding. The game on Saturday was proof enough who is more deserving as a goalie for the Hobey Baker award. Everyone knows how meaningful an honors stuby CU at Stanford - Hockey
Kevin Du "Don't" - 19 years ago
Wasn't Kevin Du the dude who scored that goal on us in January? Man, I can't believe he scored the GWG against the 'Paste. Let's hope our boys keep a keen eye on him on Saturday.by CU at Stanford - Hockey
Re: ECAC FINAL in Palo Alto - 19 years ago
Folks, Since XMI is free and the weather is lousy, I suspect we all will be watching in front of a computer. But we can "chat" live here. Almost as good as going to a bar to watch the game... Go Big Red! (I am glad that Colgate wore down those Hah-vahd weenies in the semi. This championship is going to be awesome: Two Hobey Baker finalists against each other! An instant classicby CU at Stanford - Hockey

OK, I have got the webcast going now...Gametracker, back in business. Still, I like the radio audio. Yeah, CU up by 2, and now COWBELL!by CU at Stanford - Hockey
Gametracker letdown - 19 years ago
Boy, am I glad to have ponied up $6.95 for the audio game broadcast! The gametracker is not working. What's up with that?by CU at Stanford - Hockey
Re: Overthinking this, perhaps - 19 years ago
Friends... For those of us on the West Coast, maybe we see things a little differently. (OK, maybe, it is just me...) Frankly, it is almost impossible to avoid the final score once the game is over and result posted. Besides, how many of us would really watch the tape-delayed broadcast if we lost to Vermont??? I for one can't imagine I could stomach an upset. So I'd say, what the heck, checby CU at Stanford - Hockey
Re: Albany Roll Call - 19 years ago
Rebekah Gordon will go to Albany. She is in grad school in NYC which makes it possible to go to the games. We in CA will settle for TV broadcast! (Well, we will get the CU women lacrosse at Stanford on Saturday.) Beeeej...you will have to cheer for us! TSTby CU at Stanford - Hockey
Re: 2/4: Cornell 0 @ Colgate 0 2nd Per - 19 years ago
Bonsoir Lynah Faithful! Thank you for the score update. I am in Paris this week, celebrating my 40th birthday. The weather has been surprisingly mild (compared to the forecast that is), even though it only hovered around the low 40s. We have enjoyed two afternoons of sunshine, if you could believe it. Let's hope Cornell pulls out a dramatic win by the end of the 3rd. Let's Go Red! Back toby CU at Stanford - Hockey
Re: CU at Lynah East! - 19 years ago
You mean it takes more than one to write the kind of stuff the Facetimer has been throwing around here?? No wonder.... BTW, wife is perfectly happy with SRO tix. Nothing inadequate here...So long as we have tix and are in Bright, uh, I mean, Lynah East, all is well (which kind of reminds me of an old Doug Dadswell cheer...but that is another story all together).by CU at Stanford - Hockey
Re: standing room tix avail for lynah east - 19 years ago
Got mine (3 tix) via a Harvard senior administrator. Hey, at least we will get into the rink! Go Big Red! Tomby CU at Stanford - Hockey
Re: Harvard still sucks - 19 years ago
Mike, I think you ought to look at this as an opportunity to hackle Harvard hockey and watch them getting defeated on their home ice for a whole season. I would not think of it as wasted money necessarily. I admire your gutsiness and dedication! Tomby CU at Stanford - Hockey
Re: CU at Lynah East?? - 19 years ago
Mike, I don't suppose you have any tickets left? I ended up in a situation where I only have standing room tickets. My wife is less than thrilled about them, but of course is willing to deal with them (hey, they will get us into the rink). However, seated tickets are always preferred, so I am still looking for 3 tix. Willing to trade the standing room tickets and pay the difference (SRO tixby CU at Stanford - Hockey
Re: CU at Lynah East?? - 19 years ago
Mike, How the &%$# you guys manage to get that many tickets this year??? I am hoping that my tickets will come through, via my former boss at Hahvahd... Tomby CU at Stanford - Hockey

Judging from the postings about the two games in FL, it seems that Cornell has got to play better against Harvard in order to win next week.by CU at Stanford - Hockey
CU at Lynah East?? - 19 years ago
Dear Lynah Faithfuls, So, is it too early to start taking a head count for those of us who will be in Boston/Providence in two weeks? Rebecca and I arrive on Friday. Nora Bensahel will arrive on Saturday and only go to the Harvard game. Look forward to seeing everyone at Lynah East! Tom Tseng '87 MEng '94by CU at Stanford - Hockey
Re: [Announcement] Voices of the Faithful - 20 years ago
I got my Lynah CD II yesterday. Listened to it at work today. Wow, was it worth the wait! Thank you for including the radio calls on Paolini's hat trick. Awesome...This CD, more than the first, really transported me back to a Harvard-Cornell game (Lynah, or at Lynah East). Don't wait...Go buy one!by CU at Stanford - Hockey

Re: 2/7: Cornell 1 Vermont 0, FINAL! - 20 years ago
It is so great to be able to know that Cornell has scored a 4-point weekend, even though I am all the way here in Shanghai. Love the free Internet connection in my hotel Fans back at Lynah must be scratching their heads and wondering when they will see another victory at home. Soon, hopefully! Greetings from Shanghai, China! Glad to see that the game is underway. Off to breakfast now, and will be checking back later for score update. Saw "Miracle" last Saturday (sneak preview) and LOVE THE MOVIE. Two thumbs way up!by CU at Stanford - Hockey
Re: My picture in the Crimson today - 20 years ago
My ticket stub??? Section 23, Row 2, Seat 3-4. Or, Joanna and Justin Bakule will vouch for me. Those turned out to be really great seats, because we had a clear view of 3 out of the 5 Cornell goals. Plus, we were making friends with the goal judge. (My favorite moment: Justin, seriously, asking the goal judge, "How can you stand watching Harvard hockey?"by CU at Stanford - Hockey
