Re: Cornell-Hahvahd - Chicago??? - 17 years ago
Hillel HoffmannftyuvAnyone knwo of any good bars in Philly that might be willing to put the game on? I'm working on the Philadelphia situation, ftyuv. Will post something as soon as I know more. Cool, thanks. I'd offer to help, but I've never even been to Philly... I think Hershey is about as close as I've gottenby ftyuv - Hockey

Robb Since when is loser the cheer? It's "You Goon." Period. I think he's referring to the first part. He's gunning for "See you loser! You ." I doubt he knows, or cares, whether the is "goon" or "lose," as long as we don't say "asshole." Also, I really wish he'd grow some freaking balls. I can understand banning actual profanities,by ftyuv - Hockey

calgARI '07Jim HylaWell it looks like a lot of our outcome, at least that part that we can't control, will dependent upon which Richter shows up. The 36 shot 0 goals or 34 shot 5 goals? I assume he'll start since he's certainly had the best performance so far. If so, we need to try and get on him and get him off his game. That refers to team and fans. He'll get lit up. Are you suggesting someby ftyuv - Hockey

Looks like some of you have some information on which school's engineering department is or isn't as good as the other's. Please PM each other for details.by ftyuv - Hockey

Jeff Hopkins '82Never mind the fact that a round pizza is something you do not find in Italy. It's sheet pizza cut into small rectangles. And it tastes better than most anything you find in this country, let alone in a pizza-desert like Ithaca. for Kyle. I've heard that several times. I think someone should tell it to the Italians... the couple times I was there, round pizzas were eveby ftyuv - Hockey

I can't speak to whether it'll get you kicked out, but as a proud Masshole, I don't know of a single one of us who isn't damn proud of that term. You may as well cheer "you're awesome!"by ftyuv - Hockey
Re: HARVARD SUCKS - 17 years ago
It's like a team, except they choke. Well, but they're not really a choke, they're more like a funnel. Actually I wouldn't say funnel, they're kinda a vacuum. Maybe vacuum isn't the word, they're a singularity in the space-time continuum. Though, it's not accurate to call them a singularity in the space-time continuum... they're just Sucks.by ftyuv - Hockey

Jeff Hopkins '82"I didn't know Cornell was in the Ivy League" If I had a nickel for every time... Well it's an understandable mistake. After all, we are a state university.by ftyuv - Hockey

Roy 82JohnnieAg'99True or not, I could have done without the "inferiority complex" and "inadequacy" comments. I don't mind that becuase it is basically true. What I do mind is comparing our hockey games to college basketball (or football in the other article on the Cornell hockey line). Cornell Hockey is special. It doesn't need to justify itself by being almost as goodby ftyuv - Hockey
Re: CSTV - call to complain last year, sue 'em this year? - 17 years ago
I was just heading over to CSTV's site to tell them that I would subscribe if I hadn't heard all about their bad service. Their hockey page has a picture of a guy from Maine with the caption: Top-ranked Maine got off to a great start Saturday, scoring two quick goals, but BU battled back with two of it's own to come away with a 2-2 tie in the heavyweight Hockey East matchup. Emphasis mine. Aby ftyuv - Hockey

Jim HylaschoaffJeff Hopkins '82I never expected this would become a RichS flamefest. You should know better than that at this point. Every thread seems to become a RichS flamefest and I'm pretty sure he likes it that way. I'd much prefer it if he took his shots on USCHO but I doubt he'll stop until eLynah becomes uninhabitable.Unless, of course we stop reacting. If we shut up it will get awfullby ftyuv - Hockey

canuck89Some pics of him this past week. I think people's expressions in photos of hits going down are often really interesting. The spectator on the left looks like he's interviewing someone, the suit on the right looks like he's taking a nap, and #23 there looks like he's trying to remember what he did last night. None of them seem to realize there's just been a check, or even that there's hoby ftyuv - Hockey

One of my friends a few years back went to PC, and he swore by this one hot dog joint. I think it was called Spike's or something. Anyone from the area know what I'm talking about? Apparently they have huge, cheap, tasty hot dogs.by ftyuv - Hockey

The Sun almost definitely does jokes for more than just April Fool's. I think they usually pick one or two days a semester. It's been so long, I forget. I think they used to do even more, actually.by ftyuv - Hockey

Section A BansheeDpperk29like 2004? Precisely. Clarkson didn't show up to play the ECAC Quarterfinals in 2004. In fact, neither did Cornell. I certainly don't remember a series taking place. Well of course not, that was the year that the ECAC had a full-season strike.by ftyuv - Hockey

Re: Weekend Not Yet a Sellout - 17 years ago
nyc94ftyuvithacat Maybe if/when you strike it rich you can take a different approach. Give them money and stipulate how it's to be used. Help underwrite ticket prices, if you want. You'd be awfully popular. Well, I'd be more likely to do that if the University hadn't pissed me off time and again. If it's true that money is the only thing the University listens to, then as far as I'm concerneby ftyuv - Hockey
Re: Weekend Not Yet a Sellout - 17 years ago
ithacatftyuvAnd for those who would argue pure economics, I'll fire back that pissing people off isn't a great way to get them donating money. Not that I'll ever strike it rich, but if I did, I'd definitely be thinking about this kind of bullshit if Cornell came asking me for my money. This was really just throwing the noodles against the wall and seeing what sticks...not that I ever did that.by ftyuv - Hockey
Re: CSTV - call to complain last year, sue 'em this year? - 17 years ago
You bring up good points. I wonder what Cornell's contract with CSTV is. Clearly there's not 100% exclusivity of content leaving Lynah, since these other schools provide audio. Maybe Cornell could provide its own service -- or even just stand by as a student provides one -- without breaking its agreement with CSTV.by ftyuv - Hockey
