Re: Arizona State January 2nd game thread - 2 years ago
dbilmes We arguably outplayed Arizona State for 4 of the 6 periods, yet lost both games. The second period Saturday and first period Sunday made the difference. Basically our goaltenders didn't give us a chance to win. With the young team that we have, a good goalie is very important. We can hope that everyone improves during the season and that we peak at the right time. But this seaby Jim Hyla - Hockey

2022-23 Men's Schedule - 2 years ago
Here's what I have from the ECAC schedule. No exhibitions, OOC, Colgate or MSG are set yet. Note game times are 7PM EST unless otherwise noted. The NCAA places and possible dates are listed. Places are set, unless something comes up, dates are not yet set. I did a copy and paste from this year's, so might have some mistakes in transition. Re: Red Hot Hockey "Presale" - 2 years ago
To everyone who gave me their thoughts, thank you. Interesting that as much as I extol modern medicine, they still could not come up with a reason for my wife's stroke. Fortunately physically she's doing well, but memory is still a problem. Issue now is to find someone to be with her so that I can get back to work. Since she's still got the physical strength to get around, I'm hopefulby Jim Hyla - Hockey

Trotsky Good luck to your wife, Jim. May she feel better in a hurry. Thanks In ER as I write, waiting for a bed. Looks like a relatively small stroke in occipital lobe. Just need to see if they can find a reason. Fortunately no motor function problems. Modern medicine can sometimes work. Saw her internist at 1, MRI at 3 and then they rolled her down the halls to the ER. Problem is with tooby Jim Hyla - Hockey

Weder Virtually all of the available tickets are in the BU half of the Garden, it seems. My wife is ill so it doesn't look I'll be going. I have 4 on CU side, Section106, Row 5. If anyone is interested text me 315-877-1180. I looked at the Ticket Exchange, but doubt anyone would look there. If no one is interested, I'll list them on StubHub.by Jim Hyla - Hockey

jtwcornell91 Jim Hyla jtwcornell91 I was also going to complain about Malone wearing #13, but I see from looking at Greg's numerical roster that we're otherwise actually out of numbers between 2 and 29, with 25 out of circulation. Of course, he's a Junior, so I either didn't notice it in 2018-2019, or I did, and have forgotten getting annoyed back then. I assume he chose the number. 12 was avaby Jim Hyla - Hockey
Re: Stats - 2 years ago
nshapiro If I am reading the CHN pages correctly, RPI uses weighted winning percentage, so it is better to lose an OT game on the road (.45 * 1.2) than win an OT game at home (.55* .8)? That can't be correct can it? Wouldn't surprise me.by Jim Hyla - Hockey

jtwcornell91 LGR14 CU2007 Students. Sing the Gary glitter song after the band stops. It’s fantastic. Gonna keep beating this drum Not a student anymore, but the band started playing it earlier, so now they finish the two verses before the refs drop the puck. It sucks. Iceberg I was actually considering seeing the game at Yale in January until I saw that notice. Looks like a trip there will have to wait until yet another season Considering that they only have had crowds of 1/3 capacity so far, by January they may be selling individual tickets. By then they'll know how many season tickets they've sold.by Jim Hyla - Hockey
Re: harvard game - 2 years ago
Iceberg Speaking of attendance, it didn't seem as loud as it usually is at Lynah East. Maybe the broadcast muted the audio a bit but it almost appeared like any other road game as far as atmosphere. No band!by Jim Hyla - Hockey

Jim Hyla BUCUhockey Will the Pep Band be at Harvard/Dartmouth ? As of last Saturday when I spoke to the band at Lynah, they were "uninvited". I guess it was an initial yes you can come, but then no because of COVID. But that was not from official source to me, so maybe still some hope? nshapiro Swampy jtwcornell91 ugarte love 3x3 sorry! (do not love 55% but would probably be fine if we could negotiate this to, say, 70%) I've just barely got used to the 3-2-1-0 point system in international/European hockey, but accepting an OT win as 55% of a win is a lot harder than 2/3 of a win. Re: Under 18 vs. Cornell - 2 years ago
scoop85 upprdeck they played pretty well against a team that has held its own vs college teams this yr.. create pretty good pressure much of the game and didnt get crazy sloppy. Biggest question remains who starts in goal next week; my best guess is Howe. Agree with this guess, but he leaves many too many rebounds. He really likes his stick, retrieved 2 warm up pucks of his that landed in sby Jim Hyla - Hockey

upprdeck 1500 wonder what the real crowd was, didnt look like even 1000 were there based on the townie side. B was about 3/4 full. Maybe 1/2 C & D. Although only sold enough townie tickets to keep distancing, obviously no distancing for students.by Jim Hyla - Hockey
