upprdeck wouldnt put it past Cornell to remove a game and not tell the band or the opposing team. CU emailed me that this game is a go, as an exhibition. I put it on the schedule.by Jim Hyla - Hockey
Lake Placid Ice - 2 years ago
I haven't paid much attention to college hockey till recently, but I haven't seen discussion about ECAC Coaches Thrilled With Lake Placid Switch to NHL-Sized Ice Surface. Personally I'm thrilled that they did it. Be nice to see how it changes and do they put in seats closer to the smaller ice surface?by Jim Hyla - Hockey

Weder Looks like the Red-White game was taken off the schedule. Likely, it's off women's schedule as well. Nice that I got an email at 6:42pm askng me to come to the Red-White game.by Jim Hyla - Hockey

Trotsky ursusminor FWIW, The RPI Red Army picks Cornell third. Written like a true engineer: Some may be surprised to see Cornell only in 3rd after 2 straight Cleary Cups, but they definitely belong to be here. And actually it's 3 straight Cups. 1 was shared with Q. So I guess RPI Engineers can't count either. This CU Engineer can count, I hopeby Jim Hyla - Hockey
Re: Attendance policies in ECAC - 2 years ago
upprdeck the best thing is they keep working on testing and come up with a cheaper faster test.. imagine a $1 a test that comes back in 5 min and everyone who entered got test at a game.. Imagine that it's here. Rapid Testby Jim Hyla - Hockey
Re: Attendance policies in ECAC - 2 years ago
billhoward I flew to Munich, then back, in an every-seat-booked 767. Everyone had to have a negative test dated < 48 hours before, <72 if it's the better PCR test. I'm still glad everyone was masked. You could still be a carrier w/o being infected. I've had 3 tests for the one-week trip. I posted this on the Alumni thread. Re: Women's Worlds - 2 years ago
Vax rate is nice to know, but since people vax'd can still get the virus and can transmit the virus, knowing the prevalence of Covid is crucial. If Covid was nonexistent in the community, who cares about whether the person next to you is vax'd. But if it's rampant, the vax'd person next to you could be infected and give it to you. That's why some virologists and public health experts feel theby Jim Hyla - Hockey
Re: RIP my season tickets - 2 years ago
Swampy Jim Hyla Interestingly I went to Springsteen last night and at least 95-98% were wearing a mask, and they came around to tell all to put it on. Knowing that everyone, well of course probably not quite everyone, as there will always be a few cheaters, was vaccinated made me feel okay, but would have felt better if everyone took a Rapid Test before entering. How'd you get tickets?by Jim Hyla - Hockey
Re: RIP my season tickets - 2 years ago
upprdeck at the rate things are going they might reverse course and anyone but the kids might be allowed in the bldg.. they might have to go to daily testing to slow this thing down on campus That is the best way to go if you want to be safe. The Rapid test is very good for picking up whether you are infectious, or not. If you got a negative test in the AM, right before your first class, youby Jim Hyla - Hockey

Chris H82 Article about why Matty Beniers is returning to UM, and some detail about entry level NHL contracts. And for some reason he throws this in, "So a top pick not guaranteed an NHL job might find an Ivy League hockey scholarship just as financially valuable as starting his pro career." redice Cornell Big Red @CornellSports Schedule update for @CornellMHockey : Swap the opponents for the @ecachockey North Country trip. The Big Red now opens the weekend Dec. 3 at St. Lawrence, then play Dec. 4 at Clarkson. #YellCornell Strange that they didn't also flip the February weekend, reason?by Jim Hyla - Hockey

Weder Found an exhibition game and a few more non-conference games on the other schools' schedules Oct. 16 at RIT (exhibition) Oct, 22-23 vs. Mercyhurst Jan. 11 at Penn State Feb. 8 vs. Penn State Syracuse hasn't posted their schedule yet, but there are usually 1 or 2 against the Orange. Trotsky upprdeckIt could be 8 teams all compete and its a pretty close league. That's my (just as valid as anyone else's) guess. I voted 4-6 in the poll. It wouldn't surprise me if we finished 7 or 8. If we finish in the top 3 Schafer gets to be a god alongside Ned. Say no, say NO!by Jim Hyla - Hockey

Trotsky Jim Hyla I like this, it's compact and complete. Would you mind if I added this to the bottom of my first post on the schedule thread? I'll of course give you credit, but that way it'll always be available with a simple click. It's from the ECAC site, the credit not mine! Please do sticky it! All true, but you did point it out. Re: 2021-22 Men's Schedule - 2 years ago
David Harding Jim Hyla I finally updated the schedule on the first post. So anyone who copies it for a compact listing, it's ready. And let me know of errors, or if we get more definitive game times and whether the BU game will really be at MSG. Schafer's email of 6/3/2021 said All eyes then turn to The World’s Most Famous Arena, where Cornell and Boston University face off at 8 p.m. Saturby Jim Hyla - Hockey

Noneya Business That's right every Non-Ivy must be incorrect at all thigs...and also a "factory". Only the Ivy League can make no mistakes (forget undeclared foreign donations). #sanctimonious Not having kids remain goal focused, committed, and tested in a relatively controlled environment was certainly also "protecting" them. Re: Recruits beyond 2020 - 3 years ago
I don't see any reason that immunized hockey teams, including everyone associated withe the team, facilities, etc., wouldn't be safe to play. Unfortunately fans are a different subject. It'll be interesting to see what happens with concerts this summer, as some are getting going. In regards to yearly COVID boosters, I think it's almost guaranteed. Beeeej Trotsky ugarte There is going to be an Ivy season next year. Sports around the country was janky but by and large they made it work. I think the Ivies did the right thing but by next year there will be very limited appetite for opting out of everything again. Note game times are 7PM EST unless otherwise noted. Especially, the game at Colgate is 7:30 & January western away games are MT or CT. I'm assuming the Regionals and Frozen Four will be at sites previously picked, but due to COVID cancellations, that might change. Also, the Regionals are now over 3 days.
