Also, I think the new poll in the upper right should be edited to include Sean Whitney. What a great game that kid played. Very aggressive and confident, even after he wasn't able to score from the slot.by BCrespi - Hockey
Re: ECAC SF#2: Cornell 4 Princeton 3 - Postgame Thread - 15 years ago
This post was more appropriate for the postgame tread: What an incredible three game series between these two teams this year. A 1-0 nail-biting CU win @ Princeton in the season opener. The heartbreaking loss where Princeton scores twice in the final minute to win 3-2. And now this, score twice in the final three minutes, one an extra-attacker goal, to force OT, and then win in double OT againby BCrespi - Hockey
Re: ECAC SF#2: Cornell 0 Princeton 0 (pregame) - 15 years ago
RitaRoy 82Rita The TV announcers, however, left much to be desired. I would have preferred just the on ice mikes. If you were watching via B2 networks then you got your wish at the very end of the game. No, I get the NHLN (USA). Tomorrow night I will probably experience the joys of B2. I will have my other computer set up to stream the RedCast audio so that I won't miss anything when B2by BCrespi - Hockey

Re: ECAC SF#2: Cornell 3 Princeton 3 (2nd OT) - 15 years ago
Scrivens got to Greening to celebrate within about 3 seconds of the puck being in the net. Impressive. By the way, Greening has one of the most pathetic playoff beards I've ever seen, but the goal certainly makes up for it!by BCrespi - Hockey

What a shot, high blocker, top corner. Perfect.by BCrespi - Hockey

Wow, shot off Scrivens shoulder pops up and comes to rest on top of the net. Holy. Crap.by BCrespi - Hockey

Great commercial for the Bridgeport regional just now. Of the half-dozen highlights they showed, at least 3 of them were blatant penalties. Sad.by BCrespi - Hockey
Re: ECAC SF#2: Cornell 3 Princeton 3 (end of 1st OT) - 15 years ago
Really good stuff from the Red in OT. Kalemba had to be every bit the Hobey Finalist in that period. Whitney looks great, even though he couldn't capitalize on his chance in front.by BCrespi - Hockey
Re: Could Cornell be a host team? - 15 years ago
Wayne Dean, Associate AD of Yale being interviewed on the broadcast right now, mentioned that getting Yale a home game (he actually said, "a couple home games" WOOF!) made all the work of hosting the Bridgeport regional worth it. Certainly applicable to the discussions we were having on here. He was also very optimistic about selling out the rink.by BCrespi - Hockey

Glad we could give Princeton some of their own medicine from the game at Lynah. Alrighty, let's nail this one down in OT.by BCrespi - Hockey

Barlow playing like a man possessed. Great play at the point and nice job finding Gallagher for a good shot. Let's see some magic here! 45 seconds left.by BCrespi - Hockey
Re: ECAC SF#2: Cornell 1 Princeton 2 (3rd) - 15 years ago
Stupid penalties by our best players tonight. I think that tells a lot of the story. Greening knew it too. Really undisciplined stuff by our guys tonight. I thought Riley could have been called for another minor or two in the 2nd. He looked impatient. Let's see if we can rebound. Goal! What a great effort by Barlow! 3-2.by BCrespi - Hockey

GREAT pinch by Whitney. 1-1! Mugford, I think.by BCrespi - Hockey

lynah80Cornell out skated and out shot Princeton in the first period. However, Princeton out checked Cornell. They are going heavy on the body in this game. P. Kennedy left about half way through the period. One announcer suggested he had a leg cramp. One the bench, he looked very uncomfortable. He had his leg up on the wall and looked like he was trying to straighten it. Not totally cby BCrespi - Hockey

Wow. How'd he look? I was pretty well resigned to the fact that he wouldn't play. Could you tell if there was an extra forward out there and he was just testing it out?by BCrespi - Hockey
Re: Could Cornell be a host team? - 15 years ago
ugarteDeltaOne81Rich S I've heard plenty of people complain about going to The Rock. The most important thing though is no matter how well the devils play, almost no one in the Metro NYC area really cares about them. It's the least followed pro franchise in the NYC area. To wit, only a handful of rabid devils fans would recognize Brodeur if he was walking down the street. And they rarely sellby BCrespi - Hockey

Re: March Madness: NCAA Div. I Men's Basketball Tournament - 15 years ago
kwrm8dCornell has no shot regardless...Minnesota is not comparable to the pressure D of Mizzou. It wore out kU in the last 10 minutes in Columbia...it put Blake Griffin on his ass...and it shut down a hot Baylor club in the Big 12 Championship. I take back my welcome. You have a good team, let the little Ivy have its fun.by BCrespi - Other Sports
Re: March Madness: NCAA Div. I Men's Basketball Tournament - 15 years ago
kwrm8dYou do realize that Mizzou Arena holds 15,000 people and it has been sold out on several occasions vs. Top 20 Teams...Don't worry about their shooting I was referring to Cornell as the shooting team. Welcome to the forum!by BCrespi - Other Sports
Re: March Madness: NCAA Div. I Men's Basketball Tournament - 15 years ago
nyc94Not making this up. The game is at the Taco Bell Arena. Well, they say shooting teams always do better in "gyms" than huge arenas. For whatever it's worth, The Taco (TM) seats 12,820, while the Honda Center (last year in Anaheim) sat 17,600. I'll take whatever tiny edge we can get (or even think we can get!).by BCrespi - Other Sports
Re: March Madness: NCAA Div. I Men's Basketball Tournament - 15 years ago
RitaBeeeejCornell's seeded #14 in the west, and will face #3 Missouri in Boise, Idaho on Friday. This might be one time when Cornell fans wished that a team got sent to Minnesota. Boise.... not exactly taking travel costs into consideration. Mizzou is a "small team", no one over 6 ft 9 in. Though they do get much of their scoring from their forwards. I'm not unhappy with thby BCrespi - Other Sports
Re: Iggy and the Isles - 15 years ago
nyiballsI think it's unfair to bash the Isles for not calling him up sooner. Maybe his success is based on the fact that he has had so much time in the A to work on his skating and physical game? That being said, it's great seeing him get the chance to play at the top level. And having watched a few Isles games recently, I think they have a very interesting future.
