I don't think anthing short of burning an effigy of Bettman on the steps of Ives will get this thing figured out anytime soon. (Note: I don't necessarily blame Bettman, I just think it would be fun, and it's going to start getting cold soon...)by BCrespi - Hockey
Re: Pegoraro Article - 19 years ago
Thank God for that ballpark. As a New York based Yankee fan I was able to catch a whole Yanks-O's series in June @ Camden and was very impressed. I've been to several ballparks and there are few that top it. Oh, and everybody working there is so gosh darn nice! Tip: For anyone going to Camden, Boog's BBQ is good, but the line is long and it's expensive. Instead, about 100 yds from the parkby BCrespi - Hockey
Re: Jessiman Out Indefinitely - 19 years ago
Especially when college hockey is the most exciting thing going for the Rangers organization right now. Oh the life of a Ranger fan...thank God for Cornell hockey. As far as I can tell this can only be bad. As a Ranger fan, clearly, I hope this isn't career threatening. As a Faithful, Jessiman has been as effective against the Red as Sucks fans in Lynah, so we needn't be worried there. Unfby BCrespi - Hockey

Yes, but Harvard and Brown were both much stronger teams then than they are currently. Hey, BU was on Sportscenter this morning. Damn Borque.by BCrespi - Hockey
Re: Jersey auction question - 19 years ago
Any chance you'd want to teach that slap shot to a couple of our current blue-liners? Only kidding, but seriously, I'd like to see a few more screens set up in front for some blasts from the point. Why not add another dimension to this seemingly potent offense?by BCrespi - Hockey

Additionally, I've noticed a lot of people near me who try to yell solo or start up a non-traditional chant that often don't project their voices very well, so it doesn't catch on and nobody notices. But remember, we're further from the band, we're also blocked off from it by a wall of noise that is section B. Add to this a few intrinsically tempo-challenged people in D, and the result is that all one can hear in D is the fast tempo. Re: signs for harvard game - 19 years ago
I think I may have spotted a single Sucks sweatshirt across the ice. There was however a Sucks-hatted fan at the bottom of section B. I think it's needless to say, but I will anyway, that he left without a hat.by BCrespi - Hockey

Re: WOW!!!!(team Statistics) - 19 years ago
I agree, I think Dave is a very good goalie, I just noted that he simply seems to let in easy goals on weak shots while he is very strong on tough plays in traffic and under pressure, etc. Anyway, let's go Dave and let's go Red.by BCrespi - Hockey

To speak in Jerseygirl code: A friend of mine had lunch with "the best beer to have" the other day. He mentioned that he figured that a 19th century poet might be having some sort of a revivial in about a week. He also mentioned that he was quite pleased with the play of a certain diminuative man from Britain.by BCrespi - Hockey

billhoward Wrote: Not to see the darker side, but: Wouldn't it have been nicer to have been 7-0 and 7-0 scores? Yes, it would have, especially in the Army game. The goal was quite weak, right at the start of the third, seemed to go 5-hole on McKee from the blue-line. Not to nitpick after such an exciting weekend, even against weaker teams, but it seems like Dave can look so great one momby BCrespi - Hockey
Die!!!!!!!!!!!! - 19 years ago
Sitting in section A my friends and I were musing over whether or not the tubas would play the "Die, Drop Dead, Go Home" song and then asked the conducter if they were doing it. He agreed that it was in poor taste, being Army and all, and went up to ask the tubas. They played it anyway, and the crowd, though in fewer numbers than usual, followed along. I thought it was in very poor tby BCrespi - Hockey

Re: So, now that the line is over... - 19 years ago
Oh come on now guys. I still had a great time, and tried my damndest to keep a loud section. However when standing amongst but a few people halfway through the first period, it got a little trying. No offense to all those who worked at improving the section; of course there were some great fans there, I'm just expressing my disappointment as a whole. Oh, and standing on the border of the &quoby BCrespi - Hockey
Re: Club Game - 19 years ago
Great time at the Club game on Friday. If anyone noticed that our starting goalie did not come out for the third period, someone stole his mask from outside the mini club locker room that cannot fit players + equipment. Seriously not cool. Word was it was some IK thugz. Sorry, couldn't help myself.by BCrespi - Hockey

Back in Section A this year after a one year bainshment to the pits of Section G and the even more pitiful "faithful" there. Looking forward to a great year returning to the row directly in front of the band. Also looking forward to being deaf before I graduate, but that's for another post.by BCrespi - Hockey

Re: Mike Stachurski - 19 years ago
Please...How can you question Hornby's drive? If there's anything that kid had, it was drive. O'Byrne looks like he could benefit from a little intensity infusion, but come on. How can you applaud a locker room cancer for putting his selfish goals over the team's. Personal goals are great, but they come second when you're in a top-flight program.by BCrespi - Hockey
Special Teams - 19 years ago
Anybody have thoughts on the special teams lines, especially PP? Who are you thinking will fill the swing spot? That crucial spot recently occupied by Vesce and Bâby and, not quite as successfully, Pegoraro when Vesce was injured?by BCrespi - Hockey

I'm certainly one of those Ranger fans. I was definitely happy to see those trades go down, but man was it painful watch Leetch go. Hopefully they'll get this thing straightened out and then trade Jessiman. That's their problem...this non-Red ECAC "talent". That must be it.by BCrespi - Hockey
