Re: Ivies sued over lack of athletic scholarships - 1 year ago
scoop85 Weder Associated Press A pair of basketball players from Brown allege in a federal lawsuit that the Ivy League’s policy of not offering athletic scholarships amounts to a price-fixing agreement that denies athletes proper financial aid and payment for their services. billhoward dbilmes The wrestling team's success often seems like it's taken for granted, but it's an incredible feat to have such a dominant program at an Ivy school (unless you're talking about an elitist sport like squash or fencing). RichH BearLover I mean, there are all sorts of very reasonable explanations for why blue chippers don’t come to Cornell. But the fact we get so many players who are just a step or two below the blue chippers makes me wonder why we can’t snag a first- or second-rounder from time to time. We were getting them every so often in the early 2000s. There’s also the case of an NHL team/GM making unusuaby abmarks - Hockey
Re: Love Means Not Having to Say "You Just Suck": Cornell at Harvard - 1 year ago
Scersk '97 I do think we need to put the body to them as much as possible, though. I’m not sure we’re playing as physical as we can. Of course, a missed hip check or two can very well be a puck in the net. Yet Harvard’s rink, at 204 x 87 with lots of room behind the nets, makes that difficult. So you have to tire them out through cycling, which, as you say, the 2003 team would’ve been able toby abmarks - Hockey
