"Kill, Red, Kill" can be the chorus of some other song, though that'd entail working with the band and getting a whole new song in. Re: CU Football vs. Penn - 18 years ago
When was the last time Penn football had a losing conference record? I can't recall it, and I used to go to Penn football games even before I went to Cornell. Edit: It was '96, when they also went 3-4 (although in '97, they went 0-7 after forfeiting 5 games for an ineligible player)by cornelldavy - Hockey
Re: CBS To Acquire CSTV - 18 years ago
It's actually not that likely that Friday nights will become college basketball territory. Most, if not all, of the major conferences don't schedule games on Friday nights. They typically go Thursday-Saturday. The Ivy League is one of the few conferences I know of that plays their games on a Friday-Saturday schedule. Re: Jerseys with names - 18 years ago
At the risk of sounding really anal-retentive.... If/when you go to PSP to get a nameplate, make sure they use the proper font for lettering. While I was at Cornell (2000-03) the team used a sans serif type, but I often saw game-worn jerseys in the stands that had been lettered with serif type. I brought a picture of the player to PSP with the nameplate visible so I could show them exactly what Iby cornelldavy - Hockey

The refs called Flyers-Rangers very closely, too...and unfortunately, the Flyers went 1-10 on the power play and blew a 3-1 lead to lose. I'm definitely thinking about getting Center Ice once this free trial ends. By the way, did anyone else watch the OLN broadcast? I know the issue of whether to instruct fans as to how to cheer has been batted around over and over on the forum, usually with the conclusion that it wouldn't work, but as far as solving the issue of how to heckle...I'd suggest doing what UCLA does for its home football and basketball games. Re: What I like about being a Big Red fan - 18 years ago
This is going to be really sappy. Some of my favorite moments of being a Red fan are those that I've spent watching games with my dad, who didn't go to Cornell but was hooked from the first game he went to - the exhibition at Lynah against Western Ontario my freshman year in '99. I just want to say that normally, when a link to The Sun is posted on eLF, it's usually critical and often nitpicking, and then when people come to The Sun's defense, it's typically to say that nobody ever points out that there is good writing to be found there also. 40 bucks is pretty steep...when you consider that MLB charged $80 for every game of every team for the entire season (except games in your home market and national TV games, which you can see anyway). That's about 2,000 games. MLB.tv was worth it, but I don't know if this is.by cornelldavy - Hockey

Hey, I've driven to Lancaster, CA, to catch a minor league game. Nice ballpark, although the 3-foot high netting in front of the crowd all the way down the baselines was a little excessive. If the Red are playing when I'm not, I'm down to try to find a way to watch the game somewhere. By the way, don't knock Mars - it gave Cornell an Ivy record-setting punter.
