Re: Florida Roll Call - 14 years ago
Game 1 +1. Can we please all just sit together in the same section? The entire place is empty and it doesn't matter whether you sit in your seat or not. Let's just pick a place on the blue line of the zone where we'll be shooting at 2 out of 3 periods and all collect there. It'll be more fun than everyone spreading out among the cavernous arena, entire sections away from the nearest living thiby HeafDog - Hockey
Union video feed - 14 years ago
Assuming the local Albany station that's carrying the 12/5 Union game doesn't make the video available on-line, would anyone who is watching it at home (on TV) be equipped and willing to feed the video into justin.tv or something similar?by HeafDog - Hockey
Re: Where Are The Fans Sitting... - 14 years ago
You may want to check The College Hockey Travel Guide for stuff like that. And Age even put a handy-dandy "Travel Guide" link in the sidebar to the right -->by HeafDog - Hockey
Re: Sleeping Bear? - 14 years ago
Our video up on the jumbotron was embarrassingly bad, just like the other Cornell marketing videos I've seen while watching hockey over the past several years. There was one played during a televised game a few years ago (the only part of which I am unlucky enough to remember being some bespectacled kid saying, "I'm a lifer" ) that was just as bad as this one. +1 for Yale. Ride from NYC (and back) still being offered.by HeafDog - Hockey
Re: Visiting Yale/Brown - 14 years ago
Who's heading up from NYC? I have a car and could drive, if that's easier; after you factor in the train tickets and cab fares each way, it's probably cheaper (not to mention, more convenient) to car pool there. PM me if you're interested -- besides me, I have space for four in my car. - edit - Er, sorry, might make sense to mention that I was referring to the Friday night game, at Yale.by HeafDog - Hockey

Re: A very large banner - 14 years ago
This is how I made it: 1. Found a cool font on the internet. 2. Whipped up the design in The GIMP (an open source equivalent of PhotoShop). 3. Printed out the design spread across 11"x17" sheets of paper in PosteRazor, a shareware program that takes an image and prints it out in the dimensions you specify. 4. Transferred the design from the sheets of paper to the bed sheet. 5. Fiby HeafDog - Hockey
A very large banner - 14 years ago
Check out this ridiculously large banner I made. I was hankering for a creative outlet, and figured that making a nice, big banner to cheer on the Red with would be a good way to satisfy that. After I was already in the thick of making this one, I realized that it might have been better to make a "Let's Go Red" banner instead. I'm not against the idea and may end up doing that eventuby HeafDog - Hockey
Re: Cornell Fans in Obscure Places - 14 years ago
The closest I've got is when I was talking smack (via sign language) with another driver, who was sporting a Clarkson hockey bumper sticker on his pickup truck, as we were driving down Interstate 580 in the SF Bay Area. Not a Cornell fan, though, so I guess it doesn't really count.by HeafDog - Hockey
[Lax] [OFFERED] Ride from NYC to Foxborough this Saturday - 15 years ago
Hey, so, a buddy and I are heading from NYC to Foxborough for the game this Saturday morning in time for the game (and, ideally, some of the tailgating as well, but no promises for that). I figure that in order to get there by, say, noon, we should probably leave Manhattan no later than 8:30am. I've got space for three more people in my car. Email me (gjh2) if you'd like a ride. Re: Thank you, seniors - 15 years ago
Evan, thanks for two really terrific moments these last couple weeks that made us jump up and scream our heads off. "Muggy", thanks for bringing out some great quotes from the (miked) ref during the Albany series. Dan, thanks for sticking in there and being loyal all these years. To all the seniors, best of luck!by HeafDog - Hockey
Re: I hate to say this, but... - 15 years ago
DisplacedCornellianI, too, think Schafer needs to stick/return to his style of big, punishing teams. Cornell is never going to be able to recruit enough quick, skilled players to play a run-and-gun style. With our reputation as a defense first team, the majority look elsewhere, and only a few fall in our lap. That reputation is not going to change in the near future. I think Schafer tried tby HeafDog - Hockey
Re: NC$$ games Saturday 3/28/09 - 15 years ago
ugarteabmarksActually I want ND to win. BemidJi is really fast/quick.. more so than the ND. Being banged up and not quic ourselves, I'd rather play ND. BemidJi might do us like Yale...we just don't fare well against the speedthis year. This is a sample size issue. Even if ND has no jump today, BSU went 4-10 OOC including an 0-5 record against tournament teams. I'll take BSU the day after tby HeafDog - Hockey

Re: March Madness: NCAA Div. I Men's Basketball Tournament - 15 years ago
GermAll of those games were pretty close at the half before the wheels eventually came off. From the sounds of it, Missouri never stops hustling and plays hard the entire game, even turning it up a notch in the second half and not looking back. This isn't looking good... GermThis year it would be great if we could get the "we played them close for the majority of the game and we're prouby HeafDog - Other Sports
