Projected lines sheet - 1 year ago
A (very nice) Princeton fan gave me the attached projected lines sheet last night, and I must say it's a game changer if you don't happen to somehow have all the lines memorized. But I can't seem to find this sort of thing anywhere on the internets. Does anyone know where to get it? It also looked like he had the same thing for Princeton, so bonus points if there's somewhere where one can them foby HeafDog - Hockey
Wanted: Kids' / Youth Jersey - 1 year ago
Anyone happen to have a kids' / youth jersey they want to sell? I know they sell them through the campus store, but I figured I'd try here first to see if anyone has a jersey that no longer fits their kid and that they want to sell. Thanks!by HeafDog - Hockey

Rideshare to Providence - 5 years ago
Figure I'd start a thread regarding rideshares for this weekend. Feel free to post here if you're looking or offering. Obviously, make sure to list all relevant details, like where you're leaving from, when you're departing, when you're returning, how many seats you have, etc. I am putting a feeler out to see if anyone is offering a ride from NYC or northern NJ on Saturday morning. Re: Ticket info & Who's going to Worcester? - 6 years ago
Gabe Heafitz '98, MEng '04 + 0 I didn't want to chance it and bought the all session ticket through CU Athletics. Probably would have been a much better idea to just buy at the venue. Oh, well. Any idea if we get two paper tickets at Will Call to Saturday's game? I have very little interest whatsoever in watching the second game, and would want to unload my ticket to that game if possible.by HeafDog - Hockey
Re: Newpaper sighting: Kid sporting hoodie in local paper - 6 years ago
TimV I dunno. Looks to me like this should be in the basketball thread. Can you even buy a Cornell Basketball hoodie any more? Nahhh. I must be wrong. Nobody would wear one of those. It's a Hockey hoodie. I looked at the picture pretty closely, and the letter before the 'K' appears to be a 'C', not an 'S'. It's a hockey hoodie. Unless it actually says "CORNELL WACKETBALL". My once red baseball hat is now tattered and a faded pink. If I was going to pull a Marie Kondo and toss it out after getting a new one, I sure cannot do so now. It has been on the ice at Bright.by HeafDog - Hockey
Re: Cornell splits BB games with Columbia - 9 years ago
The defense looked pretty decent, with good pressure and some gargantuan blocks, except for the fact that the first 75% of the game, our rebounding was pathetic. There was one Columbia possession where they got at least three offensive rebounds and reset the offense -- that's four chances at a bucket, for those of you scoring at home. I also can't help but second-guess Coach Courtney's leavingby HeafDog - Other Sports
Re: Tonight's game v. Penn State - 9 years ago
Looked like a bad call when the refs whistled the play dead in the third when they ruled that Mitch had covered up (assuming I'm not mistaken and that was in fact the call). That saved us, because the rebound came out to a dangerous spot, and PSU had every right to be pissy.by HeafDog - Hockey

I was using Duolingo, an app I'm mucking around with in an attempt to learn some German and Spanish, minding my own business, when I saw the attached stock image being used in the app. Looked a bit familiar! Looks it's from a road game at Thompson.by HeafDog - Hockey

Re: Top Ten Band Playlist of All Time - 10 years ago
I am nearly incredulous that the theme from The A-Team has not yet been mentioned. My buds and I got so pumped up by it that we couldn't help but sing it completely out of the blue when we were away from CU on a Colorado ski trip during Spring Break '97. I also love "Hold On, I'm Comin'", played especially loud. Rock 'n' Roll, Part 2, of course, always a fave, as are NCFS and itsby HeafDog - Hockey
Re: CU vs Yale - 11 years ago
scoop85 Just finished watching on the DVR. Painful loss, but not horribly discouraging. Yale's a damn good team, and each team had their moments. Miller missed a bunch of chances, and Iles was excellent. I don't have a lot of complaints other than the result. I thought Ferlin was just terrific (except he should have shot on the two on one in the 2nd period), and I thought DeSewardt had maybeby HeafDog - Hockey

Pretty soon, we'll be able to say, "Hey, Beeeej, you're not a bachelor, you're a boyfriend! You're not a boyfriend, you're a significant other! You're not a significant other, you're a fiancé! You're not a fiancé, you're a husband!" (Except I don't really know how it ends. "You just fix things around the house"?) Good going, bro. Mazal tov and congrats.by HeafDog - Hockey

Hand-me-down CU sweatshirt - 12 years ago
Size XL sweatshirt that I'm giving away to anyone who would like it. Good condition, and it's a nice sweatshirt, too, it's just that it's too big on me and I figure I'd like to replace it with some other CU apparel that's actually my size. You can either pick it up from me if you're in Manhattan, or you can somehow compensate me for the shipping. PM me if you're interested.by HeafDog - John Spencer Is Dead

Jeff Hopkins '82 If you're going to put words there it needs to be traditional block fonts. Like Cornell. No cursive writing. I've always liked the Rangers traditional sweater with the word Rangers running diagonally, but I hate the shield and the statue of liberty logos. Re: What makes a great/bad college hockey jersey? - 12 years ago
css228 Most of our league has pretty classy jerseys, especially some of the non-Ivy's like SLU, RPI and Clarkson's away greens. Clarkson?? Green and yellow?!? MY EYES! To make things worse, they had a third jersey a couple of years ago (not sure if it's the same one Josh was referring to) that attempted to ameliorate things by adding black to the picture. Sorry, green-and-yellow color schemby HeafDog - Hockey

Re: MSG Hockey v. Michigan - 12 years ago
Robb HeafDogAs far as I'm concerned, as long as it's not an ECAC opponent, it's something reasonably novel, and we always seem to play poorly against non-conference opponents, so it doesn't have to necessarily be a "big-time program" in order for it to be a challenge for us to win. Not related to your concept of a whether the game would be a challenge, but I don't think an MSG game agaiby HeafDog - Hockey

Josh '99 heykb It sure seems like a better shot than Colgate + Newark. While it's pretty much a given that you'd get more butts in seats against at MSG than against in Newark, I wonder whether maybe the economics of using the two facilities are such that you're financially better off with 5,413 in Newark (the attendance last November against Colgate) or 3,500 in Uniondale (the attendance when weby HeafDog - Hockey

Re: Cornell-Yale postgame - 13 years ago
We were substantially outclassed. The only reason we made it through the first period scoreless is because of Mikey Between The Pipes. The final score notwithstanding, he had himself a great game, and kept us in it as long as he could. Even in the first period, Yale was in control, firing away at our net at will, while we only managed a couple of relatively weak opportunities.by HeafDog - Hockey
