Re: Odds that Donahue Returns? - 14 years ago
YankeeLobo3 subpar years in Chestnut Hill and his head will be on the chopping block. I don't expect Cornell to find a coach that is worth keeping in the interim. Donahue will be back in less than 5 years. Wha?? Are you serious? I hope you're right!!by HeafDog - Other Sports
Re: Albany Roll Call II: Electric Boogaloo (NCAA Regionals) - 14 years ago
Josh 03I'll be in Albany on Friday after Syracuse on Thursday! Ditto. Me +1 (at least), same scenario.by HeafDog - Hockey
Re: The Sweet Sixteen - 14 years ago
I just realized that there's an interesting coincidence regarding our opponents Thursday (in hoops) and Friday (in hockey): their team nicknames are both the Wildcats.by HeafDog - Other Sports
Re: East Regional Roll Call - 14 years ago
Me +1 at least, if not more. Driving from NYC. Have space in my car if anyone needs a lift. Will continue from there to Albany for hockey on Friday. Itinerary after that depends on what happens on the court and on the ice, but will stay as long as the teams do.by HeafDog - Other Sports
Re: Dream-Crushing, Soul-Devouring Juggernaut Shirts - 14 years ago
munchkin We have a shirt design! This latest design looks pretty nice, actually. Don't know if the issue is still open for feedback, but, not to take anything away from Brian (and he did himself say that it would be okay for the attribution to be small), but I would make the attribution line smaller.by HeafDog - Hockey
Re: Why the hate/dislike of Cornell? - 14 years ago
TimV HeafDog Tradition is tradition. There was nothing wrong with what we did. We earned the victory, and we earned the right to celebrate. Should the hockey team not hoist the trophy and skate toward the glass? Should they not throw their gloves and sticks and helmets on the ice? Should they not pose for a team picture? Where do you draw the line -- it's okay to do "winning team/losing teamby HeafDog - Hockey
Re: Why the hate/dislike of Cornell? - 14 years ago
TimV RedAR How about Klump's comment at the end of the ECAC blog today on USCHO? Jason Klump: Cornell fans can't win with class, as usual. Chanting "winning team, losing team" as they point back and forth. Gotta tell ya - I'm as rabid a Red fan as anyone here, but I didn't like it either, and I think that our later applause as Union was announced as runner up was probably unnby HeafDog - Hockey
Re: Albany Roll Call - 14 years ago
Me +0. Also, PM me if you need a ride from NYC or back to NYC. I have space for a couple more in my car. I am leaving the UWS at 8am Fri and would be returning to NYC at the earliest possible opportunity.by HeafDog - Hockey
Re: Cornell game time - 14 years ago
phillysportsfan Anyone here going?, I am going, despite the tough matchup probably the best chance they will have of winning a game for awhile i was thinking of making the drive from nyc (heading down on thursday, i guess), but it's such a hike that at the moment i'm probably not gonna do it. i would only do it if there were, say, three other people to make the drive down with me, but man, 17 hby HeafDog - Other Sports

RichH HeafDog YankeeLoboIf Harvard beat us in Cambridge, would the one-game playoff be played at a neutral site or are there other tie breakers to determine where the playoff is held? How would that happen? I mean, seriously. We beat them by 36 effing points. Re: getting to jadwin - 14 years ago
Were you walking, or driving? But I have to agree, we ourselves asked two different parties directions to Jadwin before the game, and one guy had no clue and the other party pointed us in completely the wrong direction. Then the guy at the information booth didn't even bother to come out from the booth or draw a map like the nice, friendly people at dear old CU do when people drive up and haveby HeafDog - Other Sports
Re: Basketball Cornell 48 at Princeton 45 postgame - 14 years ago
billhoward Nail-biter. Sounds as if Princeton made mistakes the last mins while Witt and Wittman finally got going late in the game. I'm going to assume you meant "Dale and Wittman" or "Foote and Wittman"...by HeafDog - Other Sports
Re: 2009-2010 Schedule - 14 years ago
RichH BTW, I just noticed that Google Calendars has a "sports calendars" feature added for many different sports. While there are tons of rugby and many levels of the major sports schedules (sorry, JTW, no cricket yet), there are only three leagues listed under Hockey: NHL, AHL, and ECHL. No college. </Rodney Dangerfield> However the Cornell football and M&W basketballby HeafDog - Hockey

Re: Princeton Post-game - 14 years ago
A-ronI'll let you guys discuss the play but here's my opinion of the fans at Princeton: bad. Not to mention downright assholish. Some guy all of a sudden, from out of nowhere, started shit with me with a few minutes to go. Thanks to Mitch and Novikoff, et al., for having my back and shouting the guy down.by HeafDog - Hockey
Re: Princeton Post-game - 14 years ago
sah67 BMac I noticed quite a few of our bandies were sitting in the downstairs section- did they restrict them from playing? Yes, Baker had a limit on the number of instruments that a visiting band could play. But apparently no ban on the Princeton band's playing of their percussion instruments while time was in. Yes, I know it was just their drumsticks and banging on the rims of their drumsby HeafDog - Hockey
Re: Cornell hammers Harvard - 14 years ago
CM cWo 44 HeafDog Jim HylaOK, that was a great game, but why do both the hockey and BB teams have to play at Harvard the same night? I tried emailing everyone on the Harvard Athletic Department staff, asking them if they could possibly stagger the two games, but, perhaps unsurprisingly, got nary a peep in response. Decisions, decisions. I don't even have any idea where the hoops court is. Is itby HeafDog - Other Sports

Re: North Dakota Postgame 1/23 - 14 years ago
Lauren '06 Jim Hyla Some nice comments about their experience at Lynah on siouxsports.com forum. Here's a link to some pix one of their fans posted. Of course they're mostly of the Sioux, but it interesting to see some of our color through their eyes. Aww, they put a little flag in their hotel room window! That's so cute. Re: North Dakota Postgame 1/22 - 14 years ago
imafrshmn ansky629 Was that Scrivens' best performance of his career? Off the top of my head I can't think of a game where he played better. He was on every puck from the start of the game when NoDak had that quick shot on net. Really impressive effort by him - especially considering that the rest of the team didn't step on the ice until the end of the 2nd period. His effort in the 1-0 shutby HeafDog - Hockey

I am so effing glad that I could sing Cornell songs at Dunbar's this evening, without it having to be a "let's sing even though it was just a tie" or worse, "let's sing even though we lost" kind of thing. It was a "let's sing, and we effing won tonight" kind of thing. A downright excellent time to be back on campus. As usual, Ithaca did not disappoint. In case I haveby HeafDog - Hockey
Re: Cornell worst game of the decade - 14 years ago
billhoward...the game that made you feel worst, walking out in your Cornell sweatshirt? Lax vs. Syracuse '09, ugh. Hockey vs. Minnesota '05, decidedly not very enjoyable. (WTF, O'Byrne?!?) But the game that made me feel the worst was getting completely annihilated at the hands of Stanford, first round of the Big Dance, 2007. I was already not a big fan of Stanford before that game, but afteby HeafDog - Other Sports

polarit would be nice to see us pull out one of these national-caliber games once a decade. JerseygirlI really, really, really, want to see a Cornell team win a Big Game. Like Davidson? Re: Basketball @ KU Viewing Locations - Atlanta - 14 years ago
I concur. Consider the ESPN Zone the viewing location for NYC for the Kansas game. I hopefully will be there not too long after 7pm, and I'll be wearing a red Cornell t-shirt of some sort, I imagine. Come join us!by HeafDog - Other Sports
Re: Basketball @ KU Viewing Locations - 14 years ago
NYC, anyone? Ship of Fools is the default, I guess, but I haven't called them to check whether they get the ESPN Full Court package. We could also try The Parlour on the UWS.by HeafDog - Other Sports
Re: Cornell Basketball - ECAC Holiday Classic - 14 years ago
billhoward Those who attended can confirm, seats were available both days and it appears weather was not a tipping point in the difference between sold out and available. Seats were available? More like, sections were available. Fellow Cornellians, please do not let the question of availability of tickets keep you from a game, with the possible exception of hockey vs. Harvard at home.
